House, then car (s), then probably holidays.

scuwp: My wife and kids

You bought them?

No up front payment, but the monthly installments are monumental! :-)

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

Top five things (in order): current house, previous house (*), house extension, landscaping, car. Yawn.

(*) sold it for a profit so does that count?

Life.

No I'm not being depressive, its just an ongoing cost :D

it's a one of cost that is worth every cent.

... and you can get a full, no-questions-asked, refund on judgement day if you have played your cards right on the way through.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Up there - do they use precious metals, fiat currency, bitcoin, casino chips?

House

Car(s)

...But these were/are financed - though obviously with significant capital as well.

The most expensive thing(s) I have bought outright with "real cash" was probably either my last Macbook Pro or my most recent speakers - both around the $4k mark and the couch which was $6k

My Top 5:

House, Apartment (sold), Wedding, Car, Engagement Ring.

Hmm seeing as SWMBO was heavily involved in 4/5 of those costs maybe there is some truth in previous comments.

Ah well, Happy Wife Happy Life or so the saying goes

afe66: House
University education
Car
46" Sony bravos in 2008
mechanical Swiss watch (post exam reward)

Reminds me, and I wear it every day.

We bought (so I guess it counts) me an expensive Swiss watch. Cost more than the Missus' car. That has to go on the list I suppose (it is one of only 3 bits of jewellery we have listed seperately on our insurance).

House, Car (not telling how much but a lot).  Pretty standard stuff.

I once bought a 9K Lowe 34" CRT TV and a 55" Loewe RPTV which was around the same money. Was awesome though.

My mother cursed me with expensive tastes, and blessed me with a fantastic work ethic! Thank God one begets the other.

Sorry for your trouble. Hope everything is ok now, or will be soon!

Medical care in the USA is crazy expensive, do you not have insurance? I'd imagine so.
