Around 2001 or 2002 I bought a Samsung Syncmaster 240T ... a 24 inch 1920x1200 LCD monitor for NZ$15000. It died late last year (in a way I couldn't repair) and I picked up a replacement with 4x the pixels, 50% more inches, for about 5% of the price :-)

House.
Cars.
Most expensive techie thing was a Philips 30" LCD TV back in about 2004. Was about $6k if I recall. It still goes though (I gave it away about 4 years ago), and had the best on board sound of any TV I've ever owned.
Some magic beans. But I was told the payoff would be sky high.
Car for me ($28,000)
