@jonathan18:

May sound corny, but checking in on my two little angels sleeping so peacefully just before I got to bed, who only three hours prior had been the usual annoying little sh!ts - nothing like a child sleeping to forgive all the sins of the day!

Looking at my spare room (now happy place) as in my other post knowing my kids are all out on their own now and doing well so we must have done something right. laughing

Helping a staff member that has a problem with an unpaid $400 fine and DoJ on her back, She bursts into tears as she says thanks. Hmmm ..... not small for her maybe, but great outcome nonetheless.

The feeling of warmth and satisfaction climbing into bed with the electric blanket on and new clean sheets crinkling round me as I snuggle in.

Dogs.

We've been dogless for a couple of years now but we were dog sitting on the weekend.

I love seeing the enjoyment dogs get from simple things like a run on the beach.  Where I live there is designated dog-beach where dogs are allowed off their leads. On Saturday morning (fine and calm) it was canine chaos.  Dozens of dogs all having a blast.

When I get some time to myself which is rare these days is to be able to spend it in my happy place just mucking around.

At the supermarket on the weekend, my 16y/o son sees a short woman struggling to reach an item on the top shelf, and asks her if she'd like a hand.

Warms a father's heart.

Receiving a letter from an ex-employer ( 2 years ago) to say they owe me money.

(To do with he holiday pay debacle that surfaced in 2016 holiday-pay-botch-up)

Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.

Geektastic:

When Customs let the parcel through without billing you for the GST...

I'm going to have to echo this one. I was worried about whether my $999.19 parcel would be considered "close enough" to the $1000 limit that I'd have to register as an importer... and they let it through without any GST bill at all. Go figure.
