Fair enough, but I considered the "local" FB group to be fine (I don't even follow that one very much anyway).

I joined ~3-4 years ago.  At the time, their idea of local was very small.  Where is live there really are only two streets in our community.  And for a while it worked well.  Then neighbourly, obviously not getting enough "engagement" and all that jazz, modified it so my area was at a minimum a 5km radius around my house.

In Napier, that's pretty much all of Napier.  Suddenly I was getting all SORTS of posts about useless garbage.  I wrote to them to ask to change it back etc but they said sorry that's how it is now.  So I cancelled it.  Haven't missed it one bit.

Our neighbourhood moved to Facebook where there's once again a small, moderated community.  It's much better.

I am also finding it less and less useful, hardly go on there anymore, will look at cancelling when I get back to NZ.

Saw a reference to Neighbourly on Stuff this week about a suspicious person riding a bicycle up driveways in Hansons Lane, Christchurch.

Couldn't read the whole article as not a member.

Just had the same guy do the same here! (Street off Hansons Lane)

Police report made!

Advised that I have photos of him, down to the type of underwear showing!

Watch out!

Wow - Neighbourly may be some use - but I'm not joining!

Update: Police have been and collected Pen-drive of 1080p (and better) photos.

Hopefully they catch him!
