Amazon have the streaming rights to the show, it's unlikely anyone but Amazon would pick it up because of that.

Only PPV rights as they have for most US programs that are OTA  broadcast  TV or cable .  Season three is US$29.99 for the season pass.

Amazon also has the US streaming rights for past seasons which they offer as part of Amazon Prime. Netflix has International streaming rights for past seasons.

Apparently Netflix has passed, so it's probably Amazon or bust.

They are trying to get as many people to watch the live broadcast of the next episode of The Expanse as a way of showing how popular it is.

If anyone already has a Hulu account, or a US credit card or US PayPal account they should think about doing a free 7 day trial of "Hulu Live TV" and watch the next episode of The Expanse live (or just stream it in the background without even watching). That way it is counted in the ratings. Obviously you also need a VPN or other unblocking service in order to watch this live.

I've been trying to start a trial, but without a US card or US Paypal I can't get a trial started, so am hoping by asking others here they might make up for me not being able to.

It airs Wednesday at 8/9C US time - which I think is 11am tomorrow morning (Thursday) NZ time.

Thanks

EDIT: If anyone does this, please don't forget to cancel the trial before the end of the 7 days so you don't get billed!

Is there only the one series?

I liked it but my wife found it very confusing. I had the advantage of having read the books.

There have been two series on Netflix.  I've been enjoying it. Although it can drag at times.

Season 3 has been really good so far. It's the only show I'm watching at the moment where at the end of every episode I'm really annoyed by the fact that I have to wait a full week to see what happens next.

It has really picked up the pace this season - the first two were a little slow, but they made up for that with character and environment-building. Unfortunately, shows that take a while to get going often never get the critical mass of viewers early on that are required to keep them running and economically viable.

1 Series. 2 Seasons on Netflix. 1 Further not yet available on Netflix.

After initially being unconvinced by the premise I found myself thoroughly enjoying it by the second episode of Season 1.

I believe @Geektastic is from the UK, where they often refer to what the US calls "seasons" as "series".

Fair point. https://english.stackexchange.com/questions/27090/season-vs-series is useful. My brain just couldn't parse what Geektastic said on first read.

Few other shows have been cancelled too:
https://www.stuff.co.nz/entertainment/tv-radio/103973188/has-your-favourite-us-tv-show-been-cancelled

Notably, Bachelor, Married at First Sight, Survivor are intact? As well as MANY other reality shows. The reality is that show quality and $ do not align.

Somewhat misleading headline, but fingers crossed the deal goes through.
