Crosses "Notre Dame cathedral" off bucket list.

Depends how long you live I guess. I don't see it being rebuilt in my life time.

French president says five years. I think that is a little optimistic but it demonstrates the level of commitment. France is not New Zealand.

One of your best statements. France is indeed not NZ. So astute!

One of your more pointless statements. I am not in need of your opinion. So unnecessary!

When I was there I viewed Notre Dame from the front entrance & there was a huge queue so I moved on.  Instead I visited the very impressive Sacre Coeur cathedral on the hill at Montmartre.   Sacre Coeur is far newer of course and only about two thirds the size of Notre Dame.  On the day I visited Sacre Coeur I was able to walk straight in and listen to what may have been choir practice for a group of nuns.  Marvellous views over Paris except for the haze.
