I am a big DS fan but never liked that song myself. I love the albums as far as Love Over Gold and then all the ones after that changed too much for me to enjoy them - they somehow lost something of the original quality and became more radio play commercials.

If it was DS, I would go with either Romeo & Juliet or Wild West End I think.

Although at the moment, Industrial Disease might be more apropos!

Right now its Neil Finn doing a cover of David Bowies Hero's in one of his at home concerts on you tube.

Pertinent for these times.

Depending on the time and place, renditions of that song can be quite fitting/powerful

This is Iva Davies performing the song in 2006.

It was the first album I ever bought. It brings back a lot of.pleasent memories.

I'm a big Romeo and Juliet fan as well, I listened to that hundreds of times on the bus to and from uni.

They were a Christchurch band in the early 90s during my university undergrad days.The core members were also in an Irish folk band called The Finnegans, and there were a few songs shared by both bands including this one.

I think I'd try decide like I decided the movie one. Stranded on a desert island with no chance of rescue, somehow with a tablet with infinite battery and a single movie on it...

Music is tough, I very rarely listen to whole albums anymore. It would have to be a long song, IE 10 minutes plus. So that's probably something by Tool or Meatloaf...

I'll decide soon!

Just sat listening to DSOTM in my home theatre cranked up on a 7.2.2 system (only one home at the moment :-D). For something that is nearly half a century old, it sounded awesome and gave me goosebumps.

Mind you there are so many of other GZer’s favourites mentioned in this thread that I have thought “Yes, I must go and listen to that.” I have a nice playlist to listen to for the rest of the day!

As everyone has said, it's tricky to nail it down to just one.

For one that just makes me smile every time I hear it, Hocus Pocus by Focus.

For what some would call 'classical', I'd probably go for Orff's O Fortuna

I have a DVD-Audio of The Carmina Burana. 24-bit, 192KHz 5.1. I think I must listen to it again once all my stuff is setup when the house is finished. It's a shame DVD-A never took off. At least it's rippable - the discs I have, at least, aren't even encrypted, and VLC will happily decode and play the raw files.
