@freitasm You have strange kinds of real world identity checks in NZ ;-)

Its certainly a sad thing to happen. Look on the bright side, assuming its an ex member, he clearly valued the membership here, going by this stupid stunt.

A compliment for the site, of sorts.

It is sad this happened. At least common sense prevailed.

Man, you gotta have some kind of mental health issues to be that petty, it just goes to show what type of person they are and it only reflects poorly on them. Maybe they need to seek help because normal people don't act like that.

Yes, I have video but don't think it is relevant to this discussion.

You are not alone.

Happened to me a couple of years back. I was out at a bridge tournament so the appropriate response was deemed to be to stake out the house and pounce when I returned.

A few weeks later, a similar thing happened to another bloke in the N.I.

In that case, the caller was not malicious, they were suggesting that a welfare check on some old fellow might be appropriate.

The cops showed up on his doorstep and harangued him for four hours until he lost his temper so they shot him dead.

It is not nice to have to face cops who are considering whether or not to kill you.

Don't panic. Guess what happened when somebody talked 'about this guy heavily armoured with guns' arrived at 6am in front of the house? Exactly nothing. It was me coming back from hunting and Police first had a look to their databases before the Anti-Terror Unit gets scrambled. Nevertheless they (two relaxed policemen, not the SWAT) came along to check I was ok and no weapon was missing. After that we had a coffee break.

Article is paywalled. The intro states police arrived around 9:35 am. After breakfast and just before brunch. This is the worst kind of interruption.

Non-paywalled article probably stolen from The Herald.

It wasn't behind the paywall at first - this came later.

Cheesus. Someone got the original article, used Google Translate to translate it to Greek, then used that to translate to Hebrew, then used that to translate to Japanese, then used that to translate to Korean, then used that to translate to English.

It barely reads like the original. Perhaps my name in the second paragraph and that's pretty much it.
