Just ordered the Oculus Quest 2 for $511.28, delivery Friday this week

I presume it's AUD, if so that's a whole lot cheaper than NZ. Currently on sale at Mightyape for $679

Geez now I'm panicking it's USD lol (edit ok it's definitely AUD)

Looks like a number of Amazon devices like Fire Sticks or Echo Show's aren't available to NZ Residents.

Yes noticed that while looking around. "Temporarily out of stock."  means that they won't ship it to NZ.  I find this all the time on the US website.  If I use my  YouShop address they're in stock but as soon as I enter my NZ address it goes out of stock.

Would buying from Amazon mean that you don't get the protections from CGA?

Correct

Just had a look at the phones. Found a Pixel 4a but when I clicked on it

"$602.75

This item cannot be shipped to your selected delivery location. Please choose a different delivery location."

So much for this store delivering to my NZ address.

That's often a supplier issue. They can limit sales areas.

Which makes the site rather useless for a lot of stuff I suspect.

I bought something I wanted, not launched in New Zealand yet but available in Australian retail. Got it cheaper than JB HiFi AU and should be here on Friday.

So not useless. YMMV.

To confirm, orders are charged in Australian currency? If so is there talk of charging in NZD down the line?

When did Australian companies cover the CGA?

Well for some things  it may be no good.   Time will tell I guess if they get their end suppliers on board.  :-)

It'll be the same as every other Amazon store. A lot of products will be geo blocked a lot more won't be.

As this is now an "Australia and New Zealand store"  there should be no  geo-block in my  opinion.  I can understand in other territories geo-blocking will be a thing.

Then you'll get no NZ store. They aren't going to turn down suppliers that won't sell trans-tasman.

Prices are a lot better than I'd expected, especially for tech stuff. Shipping in particular seems to be surprisingly reasonable. Even heavy items are only around $5.

Sandisk 128GB Extreme Pro MicroSD is $41 shipped. Prices within NZ are $60-150.

Seagate Ironwolf 6TB is $247. Within NZ, $300+.

Looks like excellent access to appliances and USB chargers with 240V and NZ plugs, too.

Received yesterday. The GST page wasn't published then. Ex-Australia going by shipping times.

“We are excited to offer Kiwis access to millions of products at great prices on Amazon.com.au, all underpinned by convenient delivery options,” said Tony Austin, General Manager of Exports for Amazon.com.au. “We know that many New Zealand customers are already shopping on the US store and we are pleased to be offering them a faster option.”

I wonder if the full Amazon Prime service is included now, not interested particularly with the video but interested in the Kindle book offerings especially if I can get the family sharing access.
