@SirHumphreyAppleby:

(or I guess the traffic light equivalent, whatever our captors decide).

Captors? Do you really need to bring this kind of rhetoric to this discussion?

Yes, don't do that.

The powers that be here don't seem to realise that some of us are stuck at home, are in the small percentage of people in lockdown who cannot work from home, therefore don't have an income and are trying to keep ourselves sane by doing a bit of DIY.

But now can't even do that if we can't purchase what we want, so our sanity levels are dropping by the second.

Really? My point is the use of the word "captors" to make things look like people are in prisons. The discussion is about Mitre 10 website, not about your politics.

So I've had an order sitting with Bunnings for 16 screws for 2 days now and have a 55" tv sitting on the floor as a result.... I guess they are being hammered with Mitre10 out of action.

I called up a fasteners store in Penrose on the same street as my work and made the order on the phone:

https://www.hartsfasteners.co.nz/

30 minutes later have my screws for half the price...... I know Mitre10 and Bunnings are convenient but there are other options guys! E.g. electrical you could buy cash from Active Electrical, Coreys etc. bathroom stuff from Mico etc...

That's great if you can call them, can go during limited hours and to the one location they are at. Many people cant do any of those and need to be able to order online from bunnings or mitre10 so they can get it at a time they are not working.

I've been able to place an order this evening and arrange click and collect tomorrow.  Though they clearly still have some weirdness couldn't remove an item from my cart had to shift it to 'Wishlist' instead to get rid of it.

I can understand the frustration for customers, but boy what a horrible thing to happen for Mitre 10. Don't have any details, but the stress during these times is off the charts for most people without this happening, and to add this and the implications of it to the list of things to solve in a week. I really feel for them.

I am glad they are up again, for everyone's sakes.
