If we pay for next day delivery, and it takes 2-3 days, then credit should be given.

And if they offer 2-3 day service, and it takes longer, they should credit.

Be good to pay for service received

I agree. Not just with post but with all manner of things there simply isn’t any cost for the company when it fails - train late? Bus late? Plane late? Delivery late?

All should be events that require the companies to compensate customers. It’s just not a thing here for some reason.

apparently legally, no courier company can *guarantee* delivery of anything so its a *targeted* overnight service...  Obviously if a plane breaks down or other delays not directly controlled by the courier then they cant be expected to carry that loss...  but when a overnight service takes 5 days its certainly frustrating...  seems like its been put in the too hard basket in this country some time long ago...

Doing your best is much more important than being the best.

the planes don't break down that much, normally they just stuff up, mis-sort item etc

yes, but if you paid for overnight, they should at least drop price to 2-3 day service. not a full refund
