@openmedia do you have to hold the M key for a couple of seconds to unlock the control panel each time you want to move the desk?  I've got the same control panel on my desk at home (self-assembled with a custom top like you) and find the delay of having to hold the M key for 3 seconds to unlock the control panel frustrating.  I can't remember if I enabled the control panel auto-lock myself of if it's a factory setting.

No I don't so you must have enabled auto-lock

I see everyone still prefers the bamboo version of the Standdesk over say the Hardwood one which is the most expensive. Is Hardwood not that great?

It wasn't an option when I bought it. Bamboo and plywood were the only hardwood options. I'm sure they're just as good. Bamboo with the varnish is just gorgeous though.

I do have fading on my desk. I assume this is due to my monitor, computer shielding the desk from the sun.

I went with the black melamine birch plywood. Very happy with it.

I've noticed this as well.  We have the mid-brown bamboo from StandDesk.nz.  The desks are not in direct sun but taking the monitors off the desk, the difference in colour of the uncovered vs covered parts of the desk is noticeable.

I'm a little surprised but not bothered.

Yep, same colour as mine.
