Some tools for a summer of fence and deck building - AEG nailer kit and post hole borer, great price with lots of bonus batteries.

Finally replaced the old Dyson vacuum with a new one, but the savings were inline with the regular sales.

muppet: What's Black Friday?

not sure either... but if you believe the shops, it's something that goes on for 2 weeks.

i got another pair of headphones (Technics A800), and looking at getting an XM4 for a Christmas present.

If you have Airpoints to use up, the XM4's are $335 on the airpoints store: https://www.airpointsstore.co.nz/product/wh-1000xm4-wireless-noise-cancelling-headphones-wh1000xm4

I tried my QC's $299 JB today for the first time, gosh I am happy with my purchase.

They are very comfy and they didn't heat up my ears, even in this heat.

Sonys sound great but make my ears sweat. I should try the QCs.

First time you properly use a pair of Bose ones you understand the pricetag instantly.

My Older QC35S (2017 circa) are well used and still work but i need better battery life for some 10+hrs flights in 2025 so it was a no brainer.

Last Monday: 20% off (size about an old fashioned build-in car radio, eARC (auto on/off, volume, mute) controlled by TV remote, sturdy, all metal.

Right now a few minutes before: 54% off (yes, again 54% off, brandnew, due to model change)

I've actually been on the lookout for a year to see what suits my needs and didn't want to make a move until next year. Now it suddenly happened unexpectedly very quickly ... I knew exactly what my requirements were and these offers were too good to ignore.

Mission accomplished. (WTH is Bose? A plastics processing company? 😉)

Picked up a new monitor, Samsung Odyssey G80SD (32” 4K OLED) for $1533. Pretty happy with that.

A few NZB indexer and provider deals around 25-30% off.

Petkit Solo feeder and Solo 2 fountain from PBTech. So far so good. Had to convert the recommended daily feeding amount into the feeder dispensing units (1/10 cup) which tested out to about 19g of dry food kibble then scale that up over a schedule. I think for most that would be two feeds but our cat tends to vom if you give it too much in one go so I've spread out 5 feeds over the day.

I like that I can set a reasonably flexible schedule, see remotely that it is working, trigger an extra feed etc. Neither the feeder nor the fountain can tell you how full the hopper/tank is which is a bit of a shame. The fountain is bluetooth and has no wifi but if it is in bluetooth range of the feeder then the feeder serves it over wifi to the app.

Overall pleased with purchase so far.

Thanks - that the one I was looking at, gonna pull the trigger. I see mentions of it losing wifi connection, but amazon reviews look good.

Tempted by the fountain too, but knowing my cat I suspect it would prefer to drink from whatever random stagnant, muddy puddle it can find.... lol

Our cat won't drink from a bowl of water but will drink from a running tap or fountain or otherwise lick water off outdoor leaves etc. Weird animals. So far not using the fountain - I need to move it away from the feeder to somewhere else.

Also these devices come with a USB-A power cable and you need to provide your own adapter. The feeder can run off 5xAA batteries (not supplied) if the power goes out.
