I would set this up to help wake up in the morning to simulate a sunrise as its definitely getting harder to wake up in the morning. Used to have a Phillips Lumie lamp that did the trick but unfortunately it passed away recently.

I'd use it to automatically change the lighting in my kids bedroom so they know it's time to go to bed without me having to get up and remind them.

Not in the competition, but...

I have an Alexa automation. It triggers when I say "Computer, red alert". All lights go red and the Echo speakers start the Star Trek red alert klaxon.

Brilliant - really love that. 😀

I used to have a Hue setup a while ago...

Sitting at my place with a mate one day, he burst into life and exclaimed 'what's wrong???!?!' because the lights were all flashing red.

It was then that I realised I'd set my Hue system to flash red when my partner came home...

Due to our work schedules she almost always bet me home so I'd completely forgotten about it.

Awkward.

I have an unholy combination of wifi, zigbee, and zwave bulbs. HASS deals with all the different standards. But smart home automation is fun until its really not. Rebooting servers just to get the lights going does not have high WAF.

So simplifying the current eclectic mix would be super.

I'd like to standardise on some lighting automation ecosystem, I'm spread across some random zigbee devices and shelly relays.

Since my home is an ancient farmhouse that would be a total waste of any fancy lighting effects, what I will do with this is immediately give it away to the local Women's refuge. I imagine the bruised and battered occupants could really use some soothing lighting effects to remind them that there are also pleasant and beautiful things in life. Alternatively, they can sell it for some badly needed funds to support their work.

Brought my first home just over a year ago. Gave away my Lifx bulbs since this home has Edison screws rather than bayonet. Really miss my morning wake up routine of brightening the lights before my alarm goes off.

I also want to replace the old light fixtures with IC-4 rated down lights so I can improve ceiling insulation. My issue at the moment is what do about fitting a 90mm diameter down light into a 120mm hole.

Good luck! I've had Hue for ~8 years now and I don't recall ever having to reboot anything.

Moving to a new house in the next few weeks. This would work great on my dedicated home office and could also be the starting point for home automation.

I'd use this to notify my wife and I when our washing machine has finished washing the clothes. It takes ages and we never hear it beep in the other room, but it does have home assistant integration. We could set it to flash bulbs in the living room once the washing machine finished.

This is excellent kit to integrate to my smart home to indicate various colors for various scenarios - IE fire or alarm trip turns in RED, Rubbish day Green, recycling day yellow. etc.
