I cant select just one favourite, so here's a list. In no particular order:-
Thunderbolt and Lightfoot
Outlaw Josey Wales
The Thing (1982)
Blade Runner (1982)
Amelie
The 5th Element
Laurel and Hardy: Sons of the Dessert
The Right Stuff
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
Galaxy Quest
I agree with many of the nominations in this thread.
One I keep coming back to for fun is Sean Of The Dead which I must have watched 25 times. I just spotted another detail during the last re-watching so I better keep going in case there's more jokes I've missed.
One scene I like re-watching is the cellar bar scene from Inglorious Basterds.

I think that's "Shaun" of the Dead ...?? - the first of the Cornetto trilogy

You are probably right. I can repeat most lines of dialogue but get the title wrong. LOL.

Blazing Saddles, one film that's safe from being remade. Another vote for the remastered Lawrence of Arabia. I think the Embassy in Wellington used it to show off a new projector. The original Star Wars I went to was spoilt by the NZ distributor renting a cheaper used print that had been on the Australian circuit. Half the stars were scratches.
It's a tough call, the "Best" movie you've seen isn't necessarily your favourite.
For "Best" I think I'd have to go with Unforgiven. The older I get, the better it seems to get.
For favourite it's a two-way tie between the original Robocop and Highlander (and ignore all sequels and spinoffs). Neither are award season material; but Highlander is solid entertainment with a great premise, and Robocop (when viewed as satire as intended, rather than a straight action movie) is pretty fantastic.
But as have others have said, there are so many great movies to choose from. And now I just remembered There Will Be Blood exists... maybe that should be my best?
EDIT: Oh, and Vertigo - the first time I saw that it had me hooked beginning to end.
EDIT 2: I'm going stick with Unforgiven for best!
Django Unchained.
After watching I thought that was 90 minutes well spent.
Its nearly 3 hours long, and I hadnt noticed the time passing.

There can be only one.....MammaMia.😛
Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.
The first of the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Mum practically dragged me to the theatre and it resulted in my first exposure to the whole fantasy genre, which then spread not just into other movies but to books and games too.
Razor’s Edge with Bill Murray https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0087980/
Star Wars the original first two.
Platoon is a great movie I could watch again.

I'd put Muriels Wedding ahead of MammaMia any day of the week.

Agree with those who say it's hard to pick just one when potential stories for commital to film are limitless. If forced to select one it probably has to be Shawshank Redemption. It was a revelation to discover that Stephen King was responsible when the penny did finally drop. Other top tier movies for me though would be :-
Bladerunner
Star Wars
The Princess Bride (RIP Rob)
Betty Blue
Aliens
The Dead Pool
I go with Behodar. Just watched the extended version of The Fellowship of the Ring at an iMax. Amazing film and great adaption of the book (although never perfect).
Impossible to say but Thelma and Louise, Pulp Fiction, Terminator 2, Schindler's List and Close Encounters are up there for me.
