I know how you feel.
When I had my EVOII I used to get pulled over all the time too.
I'm guessing because it is seen as a 'boy racer' car.
I was never doing anything wrong at the time and they would just check rego, warrant and license.
I actually enjoyed it as it gave me great pleasure when the cop had nothing to give me a ticket for. :D

Its this simple be polite show your bike rego/warrant/Bike Licence have a friendly chit chat and you will be on your way in no time

If you are polite the police will leave saying geezz he was a nice guy and you may even get a toot and a wave

Do not take it as a personal attack and you are wasting your time writing a letter they are doing their job

Oh and don't play the race card people are sick of it

I don't see how whilst riding in full leathers and full face helmet you can be identified by race whilst riding a motorcycle or even whilst driving a car during darkness. If you are on a road the Police can stop you, end of story.
I wear leathers on my bike admittedly they are red and black... I want to be seen and in 30 years of riding and many thousands of kilometres have yet to be stopped by Police

that would be an ecumenical matter

Just because you are breaking the rules, does not mean it can be spotted by an officer as you drive past. Pro-active policing is how they can target these people, and how they can protect you and your family.

How would you feel if you found out that someone died after being hit by someone without a licence? Now, they have been driving for years, and the police never pulled them over as they 'looked' like they were old enough to drive, and their car had nothing obvious wrong with it. They have broken the law, but how are the police to know that unless they pro-actively police the roads and do spot checks on vehicles and drivers?

again ..your not being objective..your stating that its okay for the police to target harley riders no matter who they are? this to effect a policy of hit and miss just in case they catch one bad gang member no matter what the inconvienience to law abiding people?

as to your question...it doesntmake sense..explain the difference between someone killing someone with a vehicle that has a licence to some one that doesnt?

the licence is a piece of plastic that says you can legally drive on nz roads...how many peoplehave been killed by LICENCED DRIVERS?

mate..been riding over 30 years..also..some times i ride with open face..so yeah..face can be seen

if you took the time to read my comments you will know i have said i have ridden 30 years only been pulled 3 times..mypoint is..why in 5.5 weeks i get pulled 7 TIMES...read before you engage your typing finger thus you wont show yourself up to be...uuummmm

No, I am saying they can target anyone. I am not being bikist, by saying harley riders, you are now putting words in my mouth.
Yes it may be inconvenient, but if it means the roads are safer, along with out communities, and I all for it.

Good to see you know what a licence is. As to how many have been killed, no idea, and I do not know how many have been killed by unlicenced drivers. But, the majority of your unlicenced drivers will not hold a licence as they cannot past their tests. Or, as has been mentioned, they drive/ride on a class that they are not allowed to.
You do realise that to get a licence you have to pass tests? I do not know what it was like when you sat your licence, but you do have to pass these tests to get your licence. I do agree though that the tests are hardly difficult.

i will ad something else to the mix..most of the boys i know who ride harleys and are consistantly pulled over..ARE NOT european..

It's because there aren't that many Europeans riding Harleys in this country.

I'm a New Zealander, not a european....you can't pull out the race card and then talk about people immigrating not being pulled over....Just because they are a Pom/French/Spanish.

I'm a white New Zealander. And I've been pulled over lots. When I had my old Skyline. It's because it's a boyracer looking car and gets given a bad rep. Just as Harleys get given a bad rep.

I have moved across the ditch. Now residing in Melbourne as a VOIP/Video Technical Trainer/Engineer.

i actually said i was in the quote you highlighted..but yes everytime was pulled over wearing open face..never with ful face

also 4 times pulled over when police car was coming toward me..not behind me

uummm you need to check your facts..the greatest owners of harleys are european..i,m a member of HOG..we have almost 400 members. in auckland chapter .you can count on 1 hand the brown riders in the club..this is the same right through the chapters in nz..here in lays you wrong perception of harley riders.,,,so no mate...predominant riders of harleys by a long chalk are european..more over ther are more female riders of harleys than brown skin..hope that answers your comment

one other thing..the harley does not get the bad rap...its the association to gangs
