I used an old spammable email account to see the level of authentication the site was using, got back this email. Sure, it checks that the email address exists, but doesn't verify that the email address is related to the Trademe username.

Oh dear....

From their site now (11pm 24/11):

"Due to concerns raised by trademe regarding detailsme we have taken this site offline while we seek more legal advice.

Please bare [sic] with us and we hope to be back online again soon."

Probably not the smartest move to set up a site/service such as that, without seeking legal advice first?

Also, why go and name the person you are seeking legal advice against, if it fails you look like a right wally.

I wonder why you'd pick the same font, colours and have a similar name to TradeMe considering the size and budget of their legal team.
