The amplifier is the Onkyo TX-SR707.

Also purchased a pair of Yahama floor stand speakers normal RRP 1099, I got it for $349. ALso a Klpsch Sub the B10, normal retail is $1100, i got it for $349 as well.

Man this was awesome bargain......

And to top it off I got it on 50 mnths interset free with my 55" #d Samsung Tv series 8. Tv has not come yet, got everything else though..

Somrthing to think about. Harvey Norman have discounted goods during an Interest free period hence breaking the law as an Interest free price has to be the same as a Cash price. Just something else to throw in there

If that's the case, remember it's a done deal. You agreed on a price and you paid - if it was finance or not it doesn't matter, the contract was signed. Unless there's a piece of paper saying you have to pay a difference if something is found, they can't charge you through the finance company.

Unfotunately, sometimes can't doesn't mean they wont try... $1400 is a big incentive. If you have got stuff on (interest free) HP with them I really really really recommend you have a chat to someone at CAB or Community Law Centre. It's better to be cautious ahead of time than be caught out chasing your tail later on.

There are many cases where people have had their credit history screwed because a business has firetrucked them. Tim Shadbolt vs. Air NZ comes to mind - even after winning @ the disputes tribunal (after the event) his credit rating was not repaired.

I have contacted the consumers board and been given information that will cover me as i was unaware of this price and it not being an issue until i recieved the call.

Under the Nz consumer rights HN can not return my goods or ask me to pay extra. It was the agreed price on purchase and it is a binding deal because it is on my invoice at the price I paid as well as the contract i signed for my HP.

Good one. Keep it. Make sure you receive the TV. And make sure they don't try anyting funny with the finance company.

Well all i gotta say after reading all that is good stuff and well done for you. I would follow the advice (well at least the comment of one of your replies) and tell them your considering filing a harrassment case if they keep annoying you).

It would make for good reading in the newspapers that's for sure. :-)

As you have already found out, HN can't make you pay any extra as it was their mistake.
All they can do is ask nicely and hope that you will feel guilty and pay up (Yea right!)
Hopefully they don't hang on to your TV as a barganing chip.

HN do come up a lot here. Remember the whole $288 netbook thing. A lot of people ended up with some very good value Asus netbooks.

Well the long story is that I actually purchased the 55 inch 7 series 3d tv and it is giving me problems so they said they will replace it when they get new stock. I decided i want the 8 series when it arrives at the end of june, so they said pay the difference which i have done already. i am in possesion of the 7 series until my new 8 series arrives.

Basic contract law here - offer and acceptance. The invoice (and pricetag) constitutes the offer, them taking your money and completing the sale constitutes the acceptance.

Isn't therealso a tort or case that mentioned something about if either party knows they are getting a deal which is essentially ripping the other party off that the deal can be voided. Such as someone selling a house for a $1 when they didnt't know its true value.

I remember this coming up in 1st year Law... as painfull as that was.
