Big help all of you.
My test is tomorrow at 9. :)

And indicate if you're going around a dead end. I didn't know that until my driving instructor told me the day before when we did a practice test.

IlDuce: I paid for AA driving lessons for my restricted, and I was told that when doing the 3 point turn an instant fail was screwing the wheels around on the spot, he said the car MUST always be in motion at any time while driving in order to turn the steering wheel.
Hence while doing the 3 point turn I hit the curb as there was not enough room to do it moving and turning steering wheel.
Combined with 2 hands on wheel in 10/2 position, and must shuffle wheel not make sweeping turns, and must indicate right then left then right, made this the single hardest thing to do, harder than anything asked on truck, motorcycle or specialist licences!
So is he right, or was he just super paranoid that his power steering would poop itself if the wheels were regularly turned on the spot by learner drivers?
tardtasticx:
I was always told by my dad that doing that on the spot just rips the treed off the tires and would make them bald really quick
miamiheatfan: I can do the 3 point turn, i got the signal part down ?(right sig, left sig 4 reverse, right sig) .......but not moving your car while turning the steer wheel is an INSTANT FAIL ??!?!?!?!?! ?Wooowww ? :( :(
What if the 3pt turn is on a semi busy road ? u kinda have to turn the steer first otherwise your car will cross over slighly while backing down if the road isn't wide enough.
That's one part of the test though.?

Doubt it will be an instant fail which is weird. Anyway if you are going to move the steering wheel, just slightly release on the brakes while doing so. The car will move slightly as you move turn the wheel. They won't test you like the 3 point turn on a semi-busy road. They will do it on an isolated place off Red Hills Rd probably, or the housing area next to the mall.
Also be careful when turning on Red Hills Rd as well if you don't know the place. But anyway seeing that you are doing it at 9am, you won't have speed limit around school areas.
Keep in mind on what the person above said. Check that your car is road legal before taking the test. It will be very disappointing to find out that one of your brake light is faulty and the instructor decides not to take the test. You will have to pay again to resit.
In a lighter mood, the test will make time fly by and you might not get to do a 3-point turn.
JarrodM: And make sure you look in your mirrors. Heaps.
