Isn't it just symptomatic of the way things are going. You either pay the price at the place you go to or research it and go where you feel you're getting the better deal??
from my experience most know what they want but not what they need. Basically best quality for cheapest price.
There are so many variables when it comes to tyres that unless you do the research you are better to go to a reputable dealer otherwise you may get more than you bargained for, or less in some cases.
Handle9: If you are looking for reasonably cheap tyres Nangkang are actually not too bad. They are grippy and do wear really well for an lowish profile tyre.
I can't speak to other brands but I know the ones I had did go pretty well which I wasn't necessarily expecting when I first experienced them.
Disclosure: I used to work for the importer some years ago. I've been out of there for over 5 years but am happy to recommend their products.
Yea they are not a bad tyre for a cheap tyre problem is that they are not cheap anymore. $280 for a 225/40zr18. You are starting to get into good tyres at that price.
I managed to get a pair of near new Nankang NSII From a mate that got them with wheels but were the wrong size for his car for 250 for the pair.
It's a pity my rears are now getting camber wear. Need to start saving for them and some camber arms so I can reduce the camber a bit
