Or you could allow yourself a margin of safety and drive below the speed limit.  It's your choice.

Well yes that goes with ownership of a vehicle just like when the tires are worn down you replace them or when a buld blows you replace it,

Sorry officer I did not want to spend money on tires so I let them go blad and killed another road user

You have been licenced to drive a highly dangerous piece of equipment that has the potential to kill some one.  If you can't remember to carry your licence you shouldn't be driving.

I have a drivers licence, when I drive I carry my drivers licence

I have a gun, when I have it with me I carry my arms licence

I dive, when I dive I carry my certification

When I fly I carry my passport

It is the law, just one of those things.  Welcome to adulthood

We're approaching Godwins law...

Just don't accept responsibility for things that are your responsibility and that there are laws that most people agree are a good idea. That works really well in most situations.

but not exactly...

If the speedo gradually moves out 1KM each year then in the fifth you reach an additional 5KM you would then get fined.

So maintain your car. How is that any one elses problem?

Agreed, the only way your speedo could increase an additional 1Km each year is if your tyres magically expand.

Put the correct manufacturers tyre specs on the car.  If you tyres start to wear, theoretically they'll over read your speed.  same with almost all car manufacturers, apart from Holden.  They all come over reading from factory, usually to the tune of 5km.  So 95km/h @ 100km/h

@Codyc1515 - if you really don't have a licence, then get off the road.  Before someone puts you off the road

I have moved across the ditch.  Now residing in Melbourne as a VOIP/Video Technical Trainer/Engineer.

lmfao at a speedo that loses a k per year!

Does it happen on a certain date?

If that was the case, my old merc would be 41km/h out by now!

Like people say, get it calibrated... or use a gps.

I also don't have a heavy vehicle licence, nor a hand gun licence.

Not having a dive cert risks my buddy diver (off topic)

Oh no don't start him off on this!

I can see it now what happens if someone creeps down my drive way and puts in a few extra PSI into my tires or puts bigger tires and rims on my car!
