No way its not a legal document then

Would a shop accept photo copied money?

I've been pulled up once or twice with out it, for some reason I can can remember my license number. Yet to get a $55 fine.

That's not to say you wouldn't if you picked a cop that happens to be having a bad day.

Its kinda ridiculous that you get a $55 fine for nothing (ie. revenue collecting). They can lookup your drivers license based on the number and verify it just as if you had it on your person.

Its not a $55 fine for nothing its a fine for not having your drivers icense on you as required by law!

If you don't want to give them revenue carry your icense! That Simple

There is absolutely no justifiable reason for having to have it on you in the first place. Its just a piece of plastic.

Are you kidding me?

For starters it has your photo and if it's a quick routine check you can be on your way in minutes,

If you don't have it on you then this takes up the police officers time going back to the car doing a QP back to coms and so on,

Its a requirement to carry it if you don't like it don't bloody drive on the road

Not kidding, don't plan on paying for a drivers "license" anytime soon.

Next you will say a passport is stupid and these are just a bit of paper and should not be required just let anyone into the country,

John

People can get in many, many different ways without a passport or with a fake passport. A passport just makes it harder for law abiding citizens to travel.

I always love the "revenue gathering" argument. There is a law, everyone knows what the law is and everyone knows what the penalty is.

If it's revenue gathering it's a stupidity tax.
