invisibleman18: People still doing fireworks at midnight last night. Are people really not over it yet?

Is it March already? If you think the stockpile some have will have been used up in two weeks, I think you will be mistaken.
The solution I would like to see, other than a complete private ban, is fireworks celebration (Guy Fawkes, Matariki, whatever) with a week's grace period for weather, then any other time requires a council permit.

In order to be able to be an irreproachable member of the herd, one must, above all, be a sheep. (A. Einstein) wink

Surely he would have said "flock"?

A 'flock of sheep' looks to me more precisely.

Here's an out-of-context quote for your "enjoyment":

Bad formatting of kindle books.

Print books are rarely full of typing errors, Missing words or whatever. Kindle books usually are.
Since they both originate from word processing documents, I can't really see why.

Editors. Print books usually have editors which catch these problems. Some kindle books have editors, but self-published ones may have skipped that step.

This may interest you:

I have a UK printing of a particular book, and it has a handful of typographical errors (random blank lines, the odd missing word). A couple of years later I bought the movie adaptation and it came with a free copy of the book; a US printing this time. Curiosity got the better of me so I took a look at it, and it has the same errors in the same places!

Doh! At least they did not (presumably!) translate the errors into the movie...!

Yes, but some of the errors are so common and basic that a spellchecker would pick them up. Even that does not seem to get done. Amazon should require better quality control.

You Tube videos in which the over exuberant puppy pretending to be a presenter or reviewer is "coming at you" with his review of a new gadget referred to as "this guy". After the obligatory demand to "follow" like a sheep.

When people leave skidmarks in the toiletbowl.

(Apologies for the unsavoury nature of this post....but it does annoy me.)

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

spearsniper: Someone with a full trolley of groceries at the 10 item or less express lane. Normally always in front of you when you are in a hurry.

Equally, the cowardice of supermarkets who don't nicely tell these customers where to go.

I bet, OSH regulations requires supermarket workers to avoid conflict. After all, the customer might go rambo on them.
