New Zealand importers/retailers who reduce warranty period on locally sold products ... when internationally the warranty is longer.
eg, the EVGA G3 computer power supply has a 10yr warranty in the USA... but , only a 7 yr warranty in New Zealand.
Sometimes a warranty is useful as very few retailers make CGA claims easy (commerce commission why do you exist?).
Of course, there is no point having a shorter warranty on the NZ product... because , if the EVGA G3 fails at 9 years old, you go to the disputes tribunal and point out the 10 year warranty in the other countries as proof that it should last that.
I've seen this on new cars too.
