She had a ball. She paraglided from 1700 metres in Oludeniz.

Rather her than me but she likes zip lining and bungee jumping as well.

I would do it but they wouldn't accept someone arriving in a wheelchair to do this, that is my excuse and I am sticking to it.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

Miss 11 got her fingers caught in the car door last night. We’re on holiday in Marmaris (Türkiye).

We went to A&E. She was seen by a doctor, had X-rays and was out the door in around 90 minutes. There was a Turkish lady from the hospital who accompanied my wife the whole time. Naturally as foreigners we had to pay for the visit. The total cost was NZD$45.

She’s fine today, we’d iced it straight away and nothing is broken so it was a good story.

Old technology. I keep things for archival purposes. Recently I needed to check some old emails but the pc wouldn't boot anymore from the very old 3.5" IDE drive. I put the drive in a USB enclosure and was able to read it that way. I figured since I could read it I might be able to resuscitate it. I cloned it to a 2.5" SATA drive with an old copy of EaseUS, which is a great free tool. As I hoped, the cloned drive booted without any problem. I now have my original old XP installation, but on a much more modern and reliable medium. It even boots faster. That makes me smile.

In the space of 30 minutes yesterday afternoon I got a ticket to see Paul McCartney in Brisbane on 1 Nov and locked in flights and hotel.

A massive, massive bucket list event for me and I am still smiling this morning 🙂

As weird as it seems, having my 18 year old eldest son still asking me to help him with things - even though he also has a brother, mother and girlfriend to assist him...

While he's in a sling and can't move his post-op shoulder, I am being asked to help him dress, undress and adjust his sling/take it on & off etc

It's like having that little boy back that he used to be.

I expect that's not by accident. He knows exactly what he is doing and just how much it means to you so he's happy to play along. You should be proud, you've raised him well.

Our drop in petrol use. I was doing our accounts this morning and did a summary of fuel use. Since buying the PHEV our petrol purchases have gone from weekly +/-$80 to now filling two monthly +/- $85. Thats are possible annual saving of circa $4,000 if I have my math right.

That does make me smile.

This stuff-up makes me smile. I wonder if they had a machine to put the stickers on or if they made the work experience kid do it? 🤣

Imagine if they'd checked that this Australian made wrapper could actually be recycled in NZ before they committed to sending them here?

I remember putting telepermit stickers on literally thousands of modems over a few years for a distributor at the start of my IT career :)

Years ago when I worked for $company they ordered a caseload of sales gimmicks to give to prospective customers. When they turned up they were so light they felt like the cheap plastic things they were, so someone had to crack each one open, glue something like a wheel weight inside it, and seal them up again.

Seeing the difference 3 Parking Wardens currently in our Street make!

Usually multiple School pickup vehicles parked creating chaos during the No Stopping times!

You can certainly tell when they are around! The parents must have a FB notification group - not even the regular parkers going past!

Several $000's of tickets issued for no reg etc as well as a few for breaching the No Stopping!

Wow!

I had forgotten them, memories. Are they still used? I can't recall seeing them for some time.

When the solar installers said it was pretty straightforward running the cable down inside the wall because there are no insulation in the way at any point. See also this post.

And Big Clive has just exposed the same trick in a fake Samsung charger, it's about four minutes in:
