Our microwave started smoking - I suppose the magnetron cover became contaminated with an exploded baked bean or something.

I got 5 mica sheets. Now I have enough mica sheets to make 9 more covers , if anybody needs one.

One of these little Pico projectors

Wimius Q3

The wife asked me to buy it for her as she saw other people in the sewing community use a short throw portable projector for cutting out patterns. She's really happy with it, but we've also had some great fun using it for movie nights. It will clearly never replace a 4K OLED TV or dedicated home cinema projector but its fun to just turn off the lights and beam this little thing against a wall to get a ~110inch screen. Runs Android, has great wifi performance and connects to a bluetooth speaker to use as a soundbar. We watched a movie outside on the deck last night with a glass of wine after dinner.

Not arrived from Ali but found there, this inadvertently honest ad:

It seems recently Aliexpress with their Choice orders have been using Morning Global instead of Cainiao with the tracking number MG at the end. Do you know which shipping company they use when the packages arrive in New Zealand?

These Pica marker clones at a fraction of the price:

Allegedly Japanese but more likely from a bit further to the south-west.

All of the consumables that I need to build the 2nd battery for the eVespa. Nickel strip, kapton tape, barley paper insulation, shrink wrap etc.... No to get on with tearing down the battery that I bought in order to build a new one.

Also suffering from this now, seems random which Aliexpress parcels will get routed through NZ Post and which will get the Post Haste treatment.

Two Aliexpress parcels today, one arrived China Post to my PO Box with the only NZ Post scan being delivery.

The second, which was also addressed to my PO Box turned up very unexpectedly in my letterbox at my home address by Post Haste... on the one hand, ok, post haste apparently knew my home address from some previous encounter and redirected it without me asking, on the other hand... they don't know if I've moved or anything and redirected it without me asking.

As for what was in the parcels, tinting film and a KSEGR PD210 soldering iron.

Did you figure out how they started to do this? With things that temu and aliexpress hand off to nz courier it seems to show as delivered for me on their sites, and then take another 3-4 days for them to stick a NZ post sticker on it and it to then make it to my PO Box. If I could I would like them to deliver to my house.

In the past once they called me for a really big things to get my home address, I suspect that it was over what they could pass to NZ post and it still be profitable.

I miss the days before imile and fast horse where it was all NZ post and you could reliably get it next day after customs clearance. Then Wiri happened, and that started to take 2-3 days, and then they gave up on NZ post mostly.

While I don't like some random person in a private vehicle turning up two days after my package was supposedly out for delivery, things seem to have improved greatly since the days when NZ Post handled most of the delivery. We're seeing a lot more 'premium' services with items being pre-cleared through customs. With NZ Post, customs was rarely the issue, it was multiple days "In transit to local depot" which annoyed me, especially given the local depot was literally only a few kilometers down the road.

At least they're not using Fastway/Aramex at the moment, so that's a plus.

Hi all, newbie here .

Just wanted to ask has anyone experienced purchased multiple parcel from Aliexpress and all parcel arrive the same time and it’s now tracking as “your package is being inspected by custom”.

I have bought many package from Ali express but all arrived into country and clear custom the next day .

This is the first time it turn out package being inspected by custom.i have calculated the total amount would be exceeded $1000 so I am just wondering if is because of that ? I bought the items from Pop mart official store from aliexpress and each parcel value is about $150 dollar and they collect tax on all the parcel . Is that just normal random checking or I most probably would be tax because all the parcel added up over $1000?

Thanks

If you have multiple parcels arrive on the same day from the same supplier, they will be considered a single shipment. As AliExpress has already collected the GST, you may need provide evidence that this has already been paid. I'm unsure how the biosecurity levy etc., which are normally charged for shipments over $1000, are applied when the GST portion has already been collected, but I expect you will need to pay that. You will also need a Customs Number or Client Code if you don't already have one.

If your order was broken up into multiple orders and arrived at different times, then the customs delay is simply something that happens occasionally and isn't anything to be concerned about. They will assess the package and release it within a few days.

I placed order on the same day but different time but I see the tracking all arrived into nz the same day and all being flag as inspected by custom since 20 May. Just worry if they will ask to pay GST over 1k again. If they need the importer code , the custom will email me or the supplier will contact me directly ? It’s from Pop Mart Official Store Ali Express.

Assuming the items were sent via regular post, you will likely get a letter via snail mail asking you to pay. If a courier service was used, they will normally contact you via phone or e-mail. You can obtain a copy of the receipt from the order page on AliExpress if you need documentation to show you've already paid the GST.

For details on obtaining a Customs Number, see this page... https://www.customs.govt.nz/personal/send-and-receive-items/customs-number/

If you are doing many small orders again, load separate delivery addresses on aliexpress. This seems to stop them consolidating them.

Or place the order at least 2 days apart. I have found that 1 day may still get consolodated
