The Matrix Resurrections.

What an absolute abomination. Nothing like the original 3. One of the worst movies I've ever watched. Only sat through to the end because I'm a huge Matrix fan.

Poor acting, atrocious story, disappointing action sequences. Felt like a parody for a lot of the movie.

2/10

That surprised me.  I was thinking that it has Keanu Reeves so it couldn't be all bad.  I checked IMDB to see the general take on it, and it has what must be close to an unprecedented score for a major movie of just 5.8!

My favourite Matrix spin off is the Owl Kitty video based on the first one.  There is fleeting clip of Reeves at the end of the Owl Kitty looking like he is in his late teens — if my math is right, he was 35 when The Matrix was released.  All those John Wick fight scenes have taken their toll because he looks his age now.

Don't Look Up.

My jury is still out. It was like the Curate's Egg - good in parts.

We enjoyed it for what it was. A funny but realistic indictment on how society behaves. 7/10 for a bit of fun that makes you pause. Also stay for the 2 after credit scenes.

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

Wanted to take the wife to see this, but cannot find a cinema near us that's playing it.

It's been nearly all downhill for the Wachowski brothers/sisters since The Matrix. Parts 2 and 3 weren't bad but would probably have tanked without part 1.

And after that some real stinkers. Jupiter Ascending, the worst film I've ever seen.

The only effort worth mentioning since was Cloud Atlas which was a decent attempt with difficult material.

All at the movies:

..

Spider Man - No Way Home - the best of the Tom Holland SM movies. Lots of heart, emotional impacts, humour, and the action wasn't too bad either. Crowd erupted into cheers at a few scenes and clapped at the end. 8/10

Enjoyed the Spidey movie also - that was great fun, a mixture of touching emotionalism and great spectacle.  Benedict Cumberbatch was great as Dr Strange but I just don't get his American accent. I think it sounds forced and I never understood out why they had to have him have an American accent. As a sorcerer, why could he not be British?   I hadn't seen any spoilers all all for the movie so all the scenes were a surprise to me. Then again I haven't seen Far From Home yet so I didn't know about Peter Parker's reveal in the end of that movie. Also the presentaton at the Embassy was great in Atmos.

As an aside the theatre was pretty full and while everybody appeared to be masked up going into the auditorium I saw very few people keep their masks on - to be able eat popcorn perhaps?  But then all people had to show their vaccine passses so there is some mitigation there.

I don’t think it’s bad. I don’t think it’s amazing but it’s ok.

It doesn’t take itself anywhere nearly as seriously as the first three movies and it’s a much better movie than Revolutions.

Ended up seeing The French Dispatch outside of a theatre.

Weird, quirky, offbeat and artsy. A typically enjoyable Wes Anderson movie, if you like his work.

His movies really are "of a type" and i really enjoy them as a counterpoint to the big budget superhero movies and other escapism I tend to watch.

My jury has returned its verdict.....Awful!

Some great actors in this movie made me think that it couldn't go wrong.....how wrong I was. Boring, I forget how many times the main characters were introduced every time they met someone new, and the never ending repetitiveness of explaining that the world was about to end to anyone who would listen. Childish humour and a poor script all adds up to the worst Netflix film of the year IMHO. I believe that they could have cut the film by at least 30 mins, and still have lost nothing. 3/10.

Just my opinion guys 🙂

Spiderman - No Way Home. Took my 2 teen boys and we loved it. Universal approval from them and they couldn't stop talking about it, which is surely a good sign. I'm a Spiderman tragic so I was totally in my element. Probably the best movie of the year for me. 9/10.

SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING (2017) 8/10

With the theatrical release of Spider-man: No Way Home, I decided to re-watch the first two films in the franchise to refresh my memory of them, before I watch the new one. I have to admit that I wasn't impressed with Tom Holland in the leading role on my first viewing, but I really enjoyed his performance the second time around, and would now place him above Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield as my favourite Spider-man.

I really enjoyed "Homecoming", much more than I did the first time. Looking forward to watching "Far From Home" next, then "No Way Home" when it becomes available on iTunes.

I haven't watched it, but from seeing the shorts I imagine something like Idiocracy - a sharp commentary of the stupidity of people in power.

@Movieman Absolutely agree. 'Don’t Look Up' was a real disappointment and I also was fooled by the strong caste. Even the good actors in it were bad and came across flakey. Makes you wonder why they would bother playing in such a film.
