Certainly was. The sea was flat, very warm and no wind. Fish and chips at Ngawi and chatting with locals. Magic.

My flight arriving so early, I was at home before I was scheduled to land, thankfully, in part to being in a comfortable uber with a heavy footed driver.

Spending the weekend in Palmerston North with family who I haven't caught up with in quite a while, meeting two new family members, finding the food scene there is actually pretty freaking impressive, and that it's actually a nice city now.

Also, got to spend the weekend cuddling with a couple of puppies.

I haven't felt this relaxed AND happy in a while.

Getting out on my mountain bike for the first time in a few weeks.

It's my happy place and I don't go there often enough.

The sheer efficiency of DHL compared to pretty much every other courier company in existence. Not only can they get a package from Burnt Scrotum, New Mexico to your door in about three days but it works the other way too, scheduled a pickup early this morning, time slot 11am to 1pm, courier turned up at 12:30, and it's scheduled to be delivered to Dead Crococdile, Queensland by close of business tomorrow.

Yet the DHL driver that delivers to me manages to ignore the box in the carport with a sign on it for courier parcels to be left in it, the delivery instructions that say to leave it in the carport and manage to find the weirdest places to leave things that I can only find by looking at the proof of delivery photo to see what obsucre place it has been hidden in.

Maybe its easier when you get the more memorable delivery addresses ?

That our health values have shifted from "normal" to "optimal" simply because we no longer eat highly processed industrial foods and convenience products and cook for ourselves.

As someone who has made Palmy home for the last 24 years (and often hears griping both within and without about the city), it makes me smile to hear someone else acknowledge that Palmy is a nice city.

Rest assured, I made plenty of jokes at their expense whilst there.

I was particularly impressed to see roads, and electricity ;)

You have some nice restaurants and cafe's (Little Savannah is spectacular).

I was particularly amused to hear about Mt Cleese.

That was the main reason I went there, got some great photos of it.

Or at least as great as a pile of rubbish can get.
