After my gaming chair gas strut gave up the ghost, I ordered a new office chair through work (they have a WFH equipment provision) yesterday.

It just arrived and is one of the most comfortable chairs I have ever had. Even better - it was fully assembled when I received it!

I have a very happy a$$

Not finding the drill chuck key and so having to rethink what I wanted to do, which resulted in a much better solution to the problem than the one that would have required a drill chuck key to complete.

Followup question: Since the lack of a chuck key actually helped rather than hindered, should I now go out and buy a replacement key?

Details of the chair? Model and brand? I like comfortable chairs.

RunningMan:

Or play Metallica covers

Enter Sandman isn't really very bagpipe-able (although still a lot better than something like Four Horsemen, your fingers would fall off after 30 seconds). Look for the Dropkick Murphys cover the same trio did a while back, now that works on bagpipes.

floydbloke:

floydbloke:

That I bought Mighty River Power and Genesis Energy shares at IPO.

I posted that back in 2019.  Still smiling, shareprice has been relatively flat but they still pay good divvies twice a year.

Today's dividend from Genesis means we have now received more than what we originally paid for them (and they're still about 70% up from our original buy price.)

We purchased those plus Meridian when they were issued by the government in 2013/4. Mighty River is now Mercury Energy.

As of today in total they’re worth three times the purchase price - and all three have high div yields which means we have already recouped our original outlay, as you say.

https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/ring-this-fish-doorbell-to-help-migrating-animals-get-through-a-dutch-canal/

How cool is this. People around the world ringing a virtual doorbell for the fish blocked by a canal door from reaching their spawning place.

It's an Eden Rally
My one doesn't have arms, but they can be purchased separately.

It's quite adjustable and very well padded with a mesh back.

It's rated to 140kg for 6-8 hours a day, with a 10 year warranty.

The TV series 'Fallout' , based on the video games, is being released about now on Prime. It seems anyone who, like me, is a fan of the games is in for a treat.

Being able to borrow a Projector from a retailer, to see if it's better in my home environment than the one I have. Customer service isn't dead everywhere!

I had this at our wedding 20 years ago. I had bought a couple of cars over the years and wanted to borrow another one for the bride. They let me borrow one of the show floor for that weekend.

But that was two decades ago.

In contrast to this post:

The day-long just-about-to-rain weather (Orkland) that hasn't turned into any rain.

It's meant my Son could get home from school and mow our lawns and the neighbours too!

Developers doing the bare minimum, probably because the client wasn't more specific. NZ retailer's store finder defaulting to right on the equator just south of Ghana, which is presumably the 0,0 point.
