Tomorrow will be exciting. We have to hack a self-employed private individual who is dissatisfied with his IT consultant. If we succeed, we'll have a new customer. This time we'll do it physically on site. 😉

Yup and another smile. 😎

Excellent salmon fillet from the €30 water kettle (yes, it was a special sale offer). Exactly 30 minutes at 57*C in a vacuum freezer bag (approved for sous vide). Last week it "cooked" lamb rump. 70 minutes at 62*C.

It looks like I've discovered the real „smart“ side of this thing and can make use of it (which goes beyond its previous use for infusing Japanese green tea at its exact brewing temperature). 😄

Builder starting to build a new deck and ramp for our home. It will open accessibility to a large area that I have been unable to use.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

My daughter’s decision making made us smile.

She went to an all-ages gig at the Tuning Fork (at Spark Arena) and while there encountered an older (in his 50’s) man harassing young and older girls. While the girls brushed him off and joined forces to support each other my daughter gathered her evidence and notified security who removed him from the premises. As she said “I want to make a safe space for my friends”

She has always been there for her friends and has had to make some tough decisions even in primary and intermediate school with friends self-harming, so proud of how she looks after her friends and leading a great example to others.

Possibly. But nowadays it's not so easy to tell who is harassing whom, especially if you weren't there yourself. 😁

I think he's more than happy to take his daughters assessment of the situation as gospel. Not sure what point you are trying to make?

I don't know the daughter. And the rest is meant exactly as it says.

No one asked you to be lead investigator.

I think Wheatons applies here.

Nothing applies here. I only form an opinion when I know ALL the arguments. That's why I don't like like/dislike buttons on social media, because these buttons don't replace reason. Being outvoted by the masses does not automatically mean being in the wrong. What do you have against it?

You were (maybe not deliberately, but) indirectly questioning the integrity of ToPGuNZ's daughter.  Why??  Does seem like a bit of a dick move.

Oh guys, is it that hard?

Go to the cinema, sit down in front of a row of pubescent girls who rustle chip bags, report incoming messages on their smartphones, giggle stupidly and, when you've asked them to be quiet for the third time, have security throw you out because you're 1) old, 2) a man, 3) a fun-stopper. Well? Who was harassing whom?

(This extreme is constructed and is not meant to be an insinuation).

But I certainly wouldn't be proud of my daughter if I found out.

@Tinkerisk please cut it out. You're out of line.

Working from home on a quiet Friday after Anzac Day when most of the NZ and AU team have taken the day off. It’s 11am, I’ve only had one meeting so far this morning and I’ve already produced a full day’s work compared to any normal day.

I'm not sure what industry you work in, but in development I found 'agile' meant spending inordinate amounts of time talking about doing things and very little time actually doing them. I got most of my work done before my 9am stand up meeting, even after spending 15-30 minutes talking to the director of development (another early starter) about the latest episode of Big Bang Theory or Top Gear.

I'm pleased to be out of that sort of environment and being able to code what I want, when I want.
