checked nz post says
I'd open a dispute, take many screen shots from nz post as evidence. Had this happen to me, got a refund and left a 1 star review for the seller

Have a close look at the sellers feedback. See if they have a history of fake tracking numbers
Ive had this , and the seller came up with all sorts of excuses when I asked about my bogus tracking number (I did get a refund ).
In my case , NZ Post new exactly what was going on , but couldnt come out & tell me fake tracking (NZ Post hinted that it was) . I guess they come across fake tracking no. inquiries quite often .
Some sellers give fake tracking when they dont have stock , backorder or no longer available etc .
They make sure the fake tracking is another NZ parcel, just to buy more time .

My only outstanding order departed 8 days after yours, so hopefully that means it'll turn up late next week. Fingers crossed...
Supposedly arrived in NZ now, although it's documented as arriving at 13:04, and I checked the site at 13:04. Either I have impeccable timing or the site (Ubi Smart Parcel) is just showing the current time!

Aliexpresses refusal to do anything about this with sellers who are repeat offenders has really put me off buying from randoms on there now. It used to be quite a trustable place but now with all the wrong shipping methods and fake tracking its just too much work following up on things. I have 5 outstanding things with a long numerical only tracking number that should have been sent eparcel that I am still waiting on. Aliexpress let the sellers drag it out for so long when they do this before agreeing to a refund and they still try on the "I will refund freight now" scam.
Last one shipped ok from China. 25 days with last mile carrier though....

I don't message any new sellers, I will just open the dispute and watch how they react.
If they ask me to cancel dispute, or say that you need to change your dispute to indicate I've received the product and want to return it, then I'll just upload my evidence and ignore them. Ali express hasn't failed me with this approach.
So I just saw an update on 3 items, I ordered during March, that arrived in NZ at the same time this week.
One was supposed to be priority air-freight (cost me almost fifty bucks), but the idiot vendor changed the shipping method to Aliexpress smart shipping.
They all had updates of departing on a plane a week after ordering, but I got subsequent updates they left Shenzhen port in early April.
I believe UBI was processing them and eventually filled a container, that left Shenzhen on the 6th of April and received by UBI in Auckland around the 27th.
The "Hand over to Airline" and "Airline departed" are updates from other logistics tracking companies, interpreting updates from UBI.
The "DEPARTED FROM ORIGIN PORT" is just an interim update from UBI, that cannot be read by the tracking sites properly. You can even see one just before a proper update it arrived in the destination country.
I checked earlier Aliexpress standard tracking numbers and they have the same "echo" updates between UBI and other logistics providers. I think the other logistics providers are just putting something, based on the logical next step (making it up)
When I have explicitly selected "UBI" during ordering, it actually has sent me via airmail.
Otherwise it looks like any Aliexpress standard/free postage will end up filling a container and transits via a slow boat from China.
This is track24.net BTW. I am finding they are the best for the 20 digit Aliexpress reference.

The AliExpress tracking code will work with in NZ Post soon. It will likely sit in "Ready to send" state for a few days after that before being delivered.

That will be good.
I think the container has arrived at that North Shore logistics centre (not sure if it's UBI owned or run by an agent) and will be slowly unloaded before being given to NZPost/couriers to do the last mile delivery (or checked by customs/border security). This can take weeks :-/
I imagine the owner will have the minimum number of people unloading, so the container is processed in time for a subsequent container arrival.
Looks like mine's in the same container as yours. I shall continue twiddling my thumbs.
Mine appears to also be in the same container.
Track24 suggests it arrived at 06:24 on the 27th of April.
NZPost claims "Flight" arrived at 6.06am the same day, however still sitting in Flight arrival status.
Agree with the twiddling thumbs comment above!

Hmm, anyone got details of a cargo or commercial flight arriving on 27th morning (or day before) from Shenzhen?
The timing to me between updated is about the duration of a container ship, but they could have waited around for an actual plane.
Ubi's site is now showing "destination terminal recovery" at ~18:30 last night. Looks like we'll be able to cease thumb-twiddling soon!

Which UBI site?
http://smartparcel.gotoubi.com/ doesn't show any more updates for me (but packages24.com does)
Mine has not updated on any of the sites! I'm getting quite impatient haha.
