MadEngineer:

I’m surprised this hasn’t become a thing actually. I can’t help wonder if those little cars that the posties use will ever make the 2nd hand car market …

The exemption that allows the unsafe things to be registered applies only to NZ post. Not sure how that anti-competitive thing got thru but they have a monopoly on small effectively golf carts on the road.

While not answering your question on the golf carts per se, there are several vehicles that I know of that are only allowed to be used by government. Once they have finished with them, they cannot be on sold to the general public. Nothing to do with any sort of end user licence, purely the fact that they don't meet several bits of legislation.

If it works like Android and Windows Phone Link, then it won't allow mirroring of secure applications such as password managers and authenticators. Or have they demo running it?

The thing I read said "all apps", but it's apparently not available in beta 1 so it remains to be seen whether it is indeed all.

Mirroring is functional in beta 2, and MS Authenticator works.

I was trying to reinstall a more recent version of Mint (newer than 2018) onto a usb drive from Live running on another usb stuck but it kept failung when i realised last time i did this i had to use live dvd.

So i dug out my dvd writer and headed into town, as Harvey Norman was on way to jaycars i popped as parking easier etc.

Approached a guy in 20s and asked if they had any blank dvds i could write to...

Much confusion as he tried to direct me to audio department /amplifier s etc, desperately trying to help me but too young for dvd drives and im trying to pleasantly extracate myself to head to jaycars.

Grey bearded supervisor appears and laughs when you chap tries to explain.

Off to jaycars i went feeling old..

Vinnie made me smile today.

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

Related to This Post on Annoys thread, a $4 plunger and about 10 seconds, and saved $200 on a call out of a plumber and saved annoying them over the long weekend.

Well done. A plunger is a good thing to have handy when unwanted visitors arrive, there's no argument that you are too busy to be interrupted 😁

You should post your win there as well.

Another thing I've found indispensable for blocked sinks/S-bends is a type of long pipe cleaner/bottle brush with no obvious name, specifically this sort of thing.  They're about 50cm long, will fit down a drain, and will snake all the way round an S-bend and clear stuff a plunger won't.

Miss 10 getting a great final report for the school year.

She got an exceptional grade for effort in every subject which is far more satisfying to me than her actual grades.

Miss 12 also got good grades. The report itself was hot garbage but that's a school problem not a her problem.

She has to work harder than most because of her dyslexia and finds school hard but she's doing really well and is happy at school. We are really lucky to have both of them.
