Mikrotik and their constant supply of new features.

I mean, when you've got plenty storage, oodles of processing power and RAM available, why not allow docker hosting, DLNA, more vpn options than you can shake a stick at and now this DNS #DNS-Adlist - RouterOS - MikroTik Documentation

I can see a whole series of these being released. Iconic movie scene Lego.

I'm going to be all over Back to the Future.

Nakatomi Plaza as well. It can be my nativity scene! :)

AA recovery vehicle.

Son's car had to be towed so I called AA. They sent a van. I was perplexed. Then he opened his back doors.

WOW!

The amount of cool stuff in there was epic. Winches, air compressors, a full towing rig, you name it.

That was one seriously cool vehicle. It clearly tickled the AA guy to see a man in his fifties more in awe of the tow truck than I was upset about the car.

He seemed pretty chuffed with it too. Rightly so.

And to add to the experience, he was an awesome guy.

Edit: Looked like this

No tow truck required - AA Roadservice launches - AA ...

For anyone wanting to see how the AA towing van (RRV) works, here's a video.
I'm still pretty blown away by it, to be honest.

"International departure" doesn't mean what you think it means.  "Left Australia" is the status that counts.

(Also, kudos to NZ Post for providing a detailed list of what the statuses mean, which you usually have to scrape around Reddit and similar forums to figure out).

More money than sense time. Me reading the recommended age range for Lego Hogwarts Castle set - 192 months to 1188 months. Kind of like Walmart giving the price per pound for blurays...

Rude that once you hit 100 you are deemed to be too old for Lego.  Sure, some of the small fiddly bits might be tricky with the fading fine motor skills but it would be excellent for trying to keep them honed.

Lego D&D kit that just turned up here just says 18+.  No upper limit.

Part of the D&D 50th anniversary celebrations, a Lego Ideas submission got put into production.

Resulted in a 3754 piece kit that has a downloadable one shot adventure that goes with it.  There was a live play one shot run when they released the kit.  Should be still available on YouTube.  It's a pretty good watch if you like that sort of thing.  Had Anjali Bhimani as GM with Ginny Di and Luis Carazo as professional players along with the Lego Design Manager and the Lego Ideas creator/submitter as the other two players.

Back in 2020 I had a whinge about the use of the term ‘reaching out’ when someone means call or contact in the Annoy thread.

Today I’m reading Billy Bryson’s Road To Little Dribbling.  In chapter 12 he lists numerous things he dislikes, and there it is at no. 12:

I feel suitably vindicated and endorsed.

Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.
