If you are thrown with your neighbor into the wilderness with a backpack and a knife, you have to function in order to survive. It is now up to you to what extent you acquire techniques so that this covers YOUR probabilities in YOUR usual life context or not.

Example: If a lion attacks you, you don't have to be the fastest runner in the world to escape it, you just have to be faster than your neighbor.

That is called Darwinism. 😁

Well, you've got food, utensils, and hopefully can make a fire, so you're all set.

This slight mod to the attic access that I should have done years ago:

Previously you had to support your body weight from about chest up by holding onto the top rung of the ladder and pushing yourself upwards, with the extra bit of 3x2 across the top you can now haul yourself up by that.  It looks insignificant but just that tiny change...

What about building traps, constructing a shelter, interpreting weather phenomena, supplying drinking water, … and last but not least, internet connection? 😉

Well done! Do you think that in 10-15 years you will still be smiling about it when you have to go up there? 😋

I bought two new drives to increase NAS storage. Ordered on Sunday 1 PM from PB Tech, being shipped from Auckland and having it delivered Monday in Wellington:

I'm particularly impressed by how they allocated a tracking number before you even ordered it.😁

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

I think where I work is the only place still using prepaid tickets and the numbers are really short - 2 letters, 9 numbers and 2 letters.

Someone in the office... "I got my son a phone a few days ago. I was telling him off this morning, and he hung up on me! He's not supposed to be able to do that!"

I had to smile at the poor Dyson sales guy in Albany mall, trying so hard to make the headphones with built in air purification look like a good idea!

Such an awful looking product that just seems to be a solution looking for a problem!

Anyone here going to fess up buying a pair ?  :-)

Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds Hot Ones Episode. Have been waiting a while for it, it didn't disappoint.

This morning Mrs Code suggested that we watch the replay of the Olympics opening ceremony. I’m not a big fan of such things and said meh - but of course we watched it anyway.

Have to say I was blown away. Not so much by the parade of nations’ boats - but by the cultural stuff - music, dance, showmanship, storytelling etc. IMO it was beautiful, stylish, smart. As a stereotype comment, pretty much what you might expect from the French - but they out-shone themselves. Brilliant.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.
