Good to see a hooded guy from Assassin's Creed steal the Olympic flame, run away with it and parkour across the rooftops of Paris - only to hand it back at the last minute.

I'm at the Auckland Run series with my kids at Western Springs, and the event photographer has a drone ... the local magpies REALLY don't like it! 🤣

I did a double-take when I initially mis-read a headline about ‘artisanal sex toys’ on Engadget.

Why the surprise? It was discussing end gadgets after all :))

I like how they sell "glass massagers".

It's a bit grim but at least rush hour traffic flows a lot more smoothly during a recession...

Mrs Handle, Miss 12 and Miss 10 got their open water dive tickets today. Miss 12 has been desperate to dive for a couple of years and worked really hard doing the e-learning before the course. She doesn’t find learning the easiest so it was great she stuck through it and has had the reward of getting underwater. Miss 10 didn’t want to miss out but had a fair bit of anxiety about the whole thing. She persevered as well and is super happy today.

They all loved it so I guess I better do mine now.

On any other day, the Geekzone traffic is a bell curve—low numbers in the evening, growing from 7:30 AM until midafternoon then slowing down until 10 PM.

Today, traffic spiked due to the discussion about the Microsoft Azure outage in New Zealand.

It makes me smile because our site can respond to surges like this and people wouldn't even know it happened. I got an alert from NewRelic telling me of a "more than average number of web server log records"

Buying and fitting a TV stand to replace the feet on the 55" TV. It swivels 40 degrees. Now I can watch head on from the cozy corner of the couch. I also smile because it hasn't toppled on to the floor yet...

At 8am this morning I made an online booking with F&P to have our nine-year-old clothes dryer serviced. The service guy arrived at 1pm (and did a great job).

Mangosteen. Fabolous little fruit. Stupidly expensive, utterly worth it as a treat.

We were recently on holiday in Sri Lanka while they were in season. Just delicious.
