I remember when the local council produced some sort of event guide, and did a find and replace, Whakatane -> Whakatāne. They, too, did this without any regard for where the text appeared, including inside URLs. You can imagine how much stuff that broke.
The latest release of TVNZ+ for iPad pretends that no one ever uses it in landscape…so now it is only able to be used in portrait…

iPhone is locked the same, but don't worry, their press release mentions this is a good thing ;-)

I recently got access to my (late) father's IR online account (completely legitimate as POA and then as executor). This is in addition to my own.
Google authenticator now shows 2 entries called myIR:Untitled, with absolutely zero indication which line item is tied to which account.

OK, user error......sort of.
Turns out you can right-swipe and customise anything to the right of the colon .
Still pretty shoddy from IR though, most of the other ones already pre-populated that element with a specific identifier.

Pak'nSave self checkout. When you get to the payment stage the audio instructions are "Insert card or select a payment method to continue." This makes zero sense - you haven't selected the payment method, so why would you insert the card? I tried doing just that, and naturally absolutely nothing happens - it's waiting for the input of payment method selection.
Yay, they fixed it.

Also, their payment process software is still significantly quicker than Woolworths'

Now the prompt says "Do you want a receipt and fuel docket?" and when you say "No", it doesn't give you one! 🥳🥳🥳
Is this for New World too?

Microsoft's developer blogs, specifically the comments section. When a post is short, it appears verbatim. When it reaches a certain length, it gets truncated and a "Read more" link is added. This is probably acceptable.
However... the truncation is more than a simple truncation. Code blocks get turned into the text "<code>". But even worse, quotes of previous text lose their formatting and appear as if they're part of the post. Combined with the brain-dead default sort order of "oldest posts at the bottom, newest at the top, unless they've gained X replies in which case they get to override that order" it can be really difficult to figure out who said what.

Yes. My local NW's system has been updated and no longer prints the fuel voucher.
A genuine question: Why do people not want receipts or fuel vouchers? I don't see any logical reason to not want a receipt so you can check that you've been charged correctly. I'm not downloading the NW or WW data tracking app just to see my purchase history. Relative to the mountain of packaging already in the goods purchased, the paper in the receipt is vitality immeasurable. If I don't need the fuel voucher then it goes in the bin.
It just seems like B.S by the supermarkets so they can make us feel like they listen to us and have our best interest at heart. Kind of like the current NW push to "donate" a $20 bag of groceries.
If I'm buying three items at self checkout, I can see easily enough on the screen if they are trying to rip me off. I'm picking my things up and walking out as soon as it says Approved - not hanging around to be asked if I want a receipt.
As it is I get annoyed that you need to press more buttons than a Streetfighter finishing combo just to use them. Big sign 'card only", swipe your first item and a warning pops up"card only", have to acknowledge that. Finish swiping, press finish and pay. "Select payment type". Surely it's card?!

I can't argue with this statement.
Walk up, scan item: "do you wish to continue?" No. I just walked all the way over here, so that as a left handed person I can be forced to use the right handed configured self checkout, and I accidently took an item from the trolley, and then accidently scaned it.
Unless it's a dire emergency I will use a proper checkout.
Don't forget having to go into the settings and change the volume, since it resets back to 135 dB every time a transaction is completed.

I check everything as I go. A few months ago I had an experience where I was charged twice at Pak N Save for a reasonably expensive item (block of cheese) but didn't notice until I looked at the receipt when I got home. I emailed a complaint and eventually got an apologetic response from the store manager who asked for my bank account details so that he could arrange a refund. He then ignored my subsequent response and I never got my refund.
It was really weird.
