This current level of temperature and weather where the air has just enough cool to tone things down but plenty of sunshine to make you warm

Take that and consider a cool air but you jump into your sun warmed car. I turn off the aircon and open the sunroof.

Bliss.

On his fourth attempt, my son finally got his restricted driver's licence!

The tester was so laid back we think he actually nodded off a couple of times.

Long day, travelling to the new testing site as the bookings locally were impossible to get, but it was worth it in the end.

Well worth taking a day off work

So good to see his face afterwards.

Congratulations to you and him... and, if this is your first, welcome to a whole new chapter of parenting.

Recently here we had a massive amount of rain and my local estuary lagoon flooded big time. Just before it all flooded I walked through the track and saw a lone swan sitting on her nest and I was thinking damn she is going to get flooded for sure. Must have been inches, but still there!

What makes me smile walking past every day, is the their dedication and the male swan being the attack dog letting you know that if you come into my zone, watch out buddy!

Thanks.

No, this is the second child and the youngest - he's also the one who exhibits the more "ADHD" type of behaviours than any of us in the family - he's the one that worries me the most.

Eldest has been driving for a couple of years now and he's pretty good - although has now got a bit of a passion for European and performance cars...

When you look at an Aliexpress item, and get the amazing offer of 1% off if you buy 50pcs

Wow a whole 1% :-) , look harder and you could have got your 1% off for buying 3pcs too.

And add it to your cart and then the same thing is cheaper from other sellers with free shipping that did not come up when you did a search for the exact thing they have called it.

It's a nice thought to think you'd impact peoples lives in such a way as they would construct such a notification of your passing on your behalf because of your memory.

That speech needs to be as widely read as possible. I take my hat off to Federal President Steinmeier.

How freaking awesome our sports people are. I know not everyone is a sports fan, that's fine with me, but wow, such a massive set of amazing results over the weekend (and this morning).

I am proud of us.

Yeah, the sporting world made me smile this weekend, too.

I got an unexpected ticket to the Auckland FC football game on Saturday.
My eldest son took me and I am so glad I accepted.

The atmosphere was awesome - a sold-out crowd, a good game and sitting right behind the active supporter's area. Glorious!

And then to have the Cricketers win the WWC after losing 1750 games in a row! That was epic.
Not to mention the massive victory in the Boaty McBoatface Cup, Liam Lawson coming 9th (10 places above his grid position) in the Formula 1, Black Caps winning a test in India in convincing style. I think there was also some impressive netballery as well.

It had a bit of everything for everyone.

"Your order has shipped via Post Haste."

That sentence gave me chills. I haven't dealt with Post Haste for a number of years, but the service wasn't great at the time. Are things any different now?

Yes. Total end-to-end time was 98 minutes. Google Maps tells me that the sender is 83 minutes away. Can't get much better than that!
