I've never had any issues with the service at Harvey Norman and would happily go there for an item. They have been pretty good with deals and discounts when asked nicely. Through a union I'm entitled to a discount at NL/BB, I don't think I've ever managed to get more than a few dollars off the ticketed price so I've not bothered buying items from them.

Sorry yes you are correct, it is 2013 when it is the 30th, my outlook calender is wrong. So yes it is likely a black frinday thing. Yet another american custom coming into NZ/Australia as another excuse for a sale, even though it has nothing to do with NZ.

You know what Black Friday is??

I don't think that's quite right. Which broadcasters are you referring to?

Thought this was volentary for now and wont be mandatory until next year or rather when the broadcasters get around to upgrading their audio compression /limiter equipment etc...i.e. during / after the completion of digital switchover - well most likey take full effect after digital switchover. Im sure they still need to heavily compress the audio for analouge signals. (well thats what I got from the hottie Ali Mau on tv1 a few weeks back).

Yes, it is the sales that american retailers have the day after thanksgiving. Both of which have no association to NZ's culture, apart from through the TV.

I must admit over recent years HN have been where I've purchased a few good deals.
It's the price matching policy. I think it works best if you buy from a HN in one of the main/bigger centres (i.e. where there is local competition).
Of course, if you're not the kind of person who likes to haggle (and it's not much haggling), then HN possibly isn't the best option.

Wellington Tory Street is good. DSE is about 3-4 minutes walk away. Noel Leeming and the Warehouse are also in the same street as HN, again about 3-4 minutes walk away.

Hmm, well we've been told by the higher ups that all our audio on our TVC's we send out to stations need to adhere to these new standards. Was told everyone needs to do this now.

But yeah, maybe it isn't actually mandatory till next year. Who knows. Either way, that's what the deal is here.

<br><br>I know. I hope we find out by 9am Tomorrow so I can decide to go into town or not. I hope its a Black Friday like sale then might be able to get a bargain on something. Dont want to go in for a product launch of something im not going to buy...

Just saw an updated Ad on TV. Instead of saying "Its coming" it now says "Its on". Could it be a TV type product/something to goes with a TV? Because when the advert finishes its as if somebody is turning the power off a TV, or just turning the power off in general. A new game getting released this weekend??
