I will get another one or two names for a Note3/Gear combo to be shipped next week. Keep an eye in your PM Inbox folks...

I was thinking about the Note 3/Gear combo - there is another advantage of it that I had not thought about previously.  In my case (and I am sure it applies to a few of us) my kids play on my phone, quite often when I am close by.  One thing I and they find annoying is that when I receive a new notification they need to give the phone to me, I check it and then give it back to them.  With the Gear I could get the notification without disturbing them.  Now its not a huge sales feature, but for people with families it could be an extra bonus.  It will good to hear how this combo works in a number of real life scenarios, including families.

I'll be watching. I have a note 2 and a Sony smartwatch. All the things I hate about my current smartwatch are: screen visibility (poor in sunshine and not always on), average battery life, non standard usb charger, too thicker profile(catches on clothing and passersby). The Galaxy Gear addresses none of these, but the Sony smartwatch 2 does and is looking tempting.

I would love to try out the Sony Z1! I am a very outdoor type person and would love to test it out and see if it can keep up with the kiwi lifestyle!! Going on a 3 day hike next week! Wouldnt mind a new phone to test out ;)

I will be going to San Francisco for a business trip at the end of next week. I'll be relying on my phone to keep my life organized in that time, so may make an excellent candidate for taking the Note 3/Gear combo through its paces. :-)

Having been filled with bad luck lately and having so much time on my hands at the moment I'd love to do this :) I've heard some great things about the Note 3 so will be interesting to see how it stacks up with keeping my life organised as well as Ingress, who knows. I might even strap it onto my quadcopter for a "true" test of it's 4K video recording across the Wellington waterfront. I'll come up with some creative ways to put it through it's paces anyway.

Hi - it might be too late to throw my hat into the ring, but as an iOS device user I've often thought that I should spend some hands-on time with another platform.
I got on board the apple-cart when the first iPod Touch was released in NZ and have since had a series of iPhones and helped set up family members (and paying students) with iPhones and iPads.
As a commercial photographer who dabbles in video I use both the iPhone and iPad for various tasks and I believe there are some good Android apps for using a tablet as a remote viewing screen for clients to see what I'm shooting on my DSLR. I also tutor evening classes at a community college to help people understand their iDevices, but do get asked a lot of questions about 'droid tablets.... hmmm... I guess I could even sneak some photos from 'other' hardware onto my blog...

Cheers,
Mike

I would have to say the note3 Samsung gear combo. As a ex iPhone user no longer drinking the cool aid. I love my note 2 but I think Sammy have hit the nail on the head with the note 3 with the gear. As a power user of my note 2 for work. I would really enjoy spending time with the note 3 and Gear to see how it will go in a work environment for notifications . and see if it is really as good as the reviews show. I am surrounded by Windows Phone users and iPhone users and would really like to also show them what this sort of hardware can do

Many thanks! Really looking forward to putting some pressure on the combo. If there's anything in particular anyone wants me to look at, just let me know. (Will do what I can to cover any/all requests)
