I'm looking to replace my aging HP Data Vault x510 which has served its purpose well.
I'd be looking to implement a home lab environment (ESX or HyperV) along with a home server environment.

I saw one of these at TechEd, its the perfect size to replace the 2TB USB drive I have plugged into my router as shared online storage. It'll sit nicely on the shelf next to the modem and Wifi.

I like the look of the iLO Essentials license meaning I can manage it remotely - given I'm away a lot and the people I live with inevitably mess up something while I'm away, I can get into it remotely and fix it right up!

This would be a fine replacement to my ageing HP tower in the airing cupboard serving media to the lounge and bedrooms. I'd make good use of the RAID features too.

Oh and that video - WOW!

I'd find this unit useful to provide fast access to and a reliable store of the large volumes I need to work with within my photography business. The server and switch would allow multiple people to work on images at one time, providing a faster turnaround for our customers. I could also run batch jobs on the server to offload work from my PC.

Would have to be the size! I have one of the older first gen WHS HP MediaSmart boxes, and this looks to be smaller again. Awesome!

Beautifully designed piece of kit.  We'd use it mainly to securely back up various devices and provide access to media sharing and files, even when away from the house.

I am very much attracted to the the four 3.5" bays.

Currently, I have four external USB HDD connected to an old laptop acting as a file server.
The four drives are merge into one volume using DriveBender software.  However during writing/reading, the DriveBender uses a fair amount of CPU load which slows down further the already old and slow laptop.

This is a perfect replacement.

I like the fact that it's small and quiet. Also - that new coloured bezel kit is right up there ;-)

I'm currently living "away from home", and only have a very limited subset of my possessions with me. Transporting one of my existing home servers was not a practical option this MicroServer is so tiny that I could literally pack it in a suitcase. It's size makes it a perfect portable option for me.

Wow - that video presentation is quite something...hard to believe it is actually serious!?!

Nevertheless, it is a very handy looking box. I am just starting a new online business and having a centralised, safe, and redundant (RAID) environment will make life a lot less stressful once those orders start rolling in, knowing my data is backed up and secure! Since my business is starting from home the small form factor and low noise will give the wife a lot less reason to get upset as well.

There a lots of things to like, but for home or our office the one that stick out are the form factor- a small, fully featured server.  And the quiet operation.

Really like the remote management tech. Would replace my power guzzling i7 920 with this much more appropriately powered system for a much more efficient server.

The 4 Drive bays - Storage goodness. Would replace my USB externals for my growing media collection (I remember buying a 2.1GB Hard drive for too much money once and thinking it was overkill!).

Oooh, and blue LEDs.
