iParcel must be sick of NZ customers. Their update enters NZ, sits there for 1-2 weeks, but still arrives in the original "estimated shipping date" time-frame when you make the order.

networkn: Well I am not that happy since I have tried to contact them and 3 days on no reply.

It is the weekend... usually companies  will only reply during the working week of mon-fri

Are people having problems getting it delivered within the stated time, or that the parcel is being artificially slowed down? I can see why they would slow down delivery, and it would be because the buyer may have timed it so they will be home to receive the parcel. If it arrives early, they may be away on holiday etc.

Mine is showing as with customs I am not sure what Iparcel could have done to slow it down unless they declared it as coke..

However I did get a response (Also it was 3 working days).

I did get a response today and they were useless as I expected. I just need to wait.

What's the problem? If the parcel is being delivered within the time estimated, nothing wrong? Some companies (DHL and FedEx included) do a "pre-clearance" by arranging all documentation to be sent beforehand to customs so when it lands it's cleared.

Perhaps iParcel sends the documentation to customs and changes the status of the parcel to "waiting customs" when the parcel is still over the pacific or being packaged, or whatever.

All the rage...

I think this is the problem, it's how they word it.

"In Transit
Your package is delayed in the customs clearance process. Please contact the carrier for next steps (Updated 0 minute(s) ago)
Original expected delivery date: Wednesday, February 19, 2014 "

So are you meant to contact them or wait 18 days and then contact them.

Agree with this, although I can understand the impatience factor all too well!

Perhaps shipments come in a big containers with lots of other packages (which would help subsidise the free shipping) and it takes them time to sort through it all?  Since the delivery estimates are reasonably long, sorting through iParcel packages are probably lower priority and get worked on each day after express shipping parcels arrive?  I have no real idea how this works so just offering up a possibility?

I think you have a case for concern then.

You can query iParcel about a shipment, online or by calling them in the US.

I've done that, they don't take tracking queries via any method except email and their email response time is average of 3-5 days, and was typically useless, in so far as they said, it might be a while longer.
Amazon said they could send another but it would take longer than just waiting. First time they have said anything like this to me before.

Something might be happening over there (xmas hangover? the cold front? shipment abducted by aliens?) or just increased demand.

Last package took just over a week during the holiday season. Tracking was updated reasonably quick.

This time it's been nearly 2 weeks, and tracking were not updated since 27 Jan, two separate packages both saying arrived at Edison NJ on 27 Jan

Does amazon send express parcels via iParcel? I'm thinking amazon free shipping is only suitable for things you really don't need in a hurry. If it's important use express shipping with a reputable carrier or via youshop - though youshop isn't an express service it's reasonably reliable.

Personally I found my recent "volume measurement" saga with youshop disappointing. I might still use it for small packages, but anything bigger than a phone I'll have to think twice.

For things I need in a hurry, or warranty could be a real concern, I'd still shop locally.

You were unlucky. I've never sent anything really big or heavy, pricing has always been ok.

I think the bulk of the complaints are that shipping from Amazon has slowed down in general, I've never heard of iParcel before this last shipment and never had a problem before.
