How is it that I'm able to get through playing every GTA since GTA3 without ever soliciting a prostitute (I mean I was a driver for Mindy, but that was just because a mafia boss told me to).  And yet every reviewer seems to manage to somehow solicit a prostitute, then manage to beat her to death.    To be fair I've not finished GTA5 yet.. but it doesn't appear to be a compulsory part of the game.

I think this reflects more on the reviewer than the game maker...   Also: If they were upset by that: no-one show them saints row, because that stuff gets weird.

Same here, I havent used prostitutes since GTA 3. For every politician or parent group, GTA will forever be 'That series you can sleep with prostitutes and then murder them for the money.'

However, many of the parents will be saying

"that game I used to play as a child where you can sleep with prostitutes and then murder them for the money."!!!

Funny how the legal age to have sex is 16 but 18 to play a video game with it in it.

They are still advertising the offending games in their latest mailers.

Clearly states GTA V and the pics show R18 notices.

They can choose to sell (or not sell) whatever they want. But I personally think it's ridiculous, the games and videos have ratings so they should not be sold to anyone underage anyway. I often buy games and BDs from The Warehouse as they usually have very good prices on release day.

All they are doing is forcing customers to take their business elsewhere.

Or perhaps "That game that spawned a nature documentary"

Personally I will be boycotting them as much as I can.

My reasons are varied, but include

Not wishing to support companies that do things Family First approve of.
Not wishing to support companies that have CEO's who believe in imaginary friends in the sky.
Not wishing to support companies that support censorship or prudishness.
Not wishing to support companies that don't support gamers.
Not wishing to support companies that use gamers as a pawn in cynical marketing ploys to appeal to people who believe in imaginary friends in the sky.

I'm a geek, a gamer, a dad, a Quic user, and an IT Professional. I have a full rack home lab, size 15 feet, an epic beard and Asperger's. I'm a bit of a Cypherpunk, who believes information wants to be free and the Net interprets censorship as damage and routes around it. If you use my Quic signup you can also use the code R570394EKGIZ8 for free setup.

Me, I'll be boycotting them because they don't sell the stuff they used to sell.* That place used to be awesome, it'd have anything you wanted, really cheap. But these days - within the past 18 months or so - I end up walking out with nothing because they either don't have it or it's too expensive. If I wanted to shop at a version of Briscoes, I'd just go to Briscoes.

Not really a boycott. Just not wasting my time any more.

Well the mailer is 2 weeks old and would have gone to print well before that. The announcement only came out 2 days ago.

Yes I have found it has basically become like another briscoes, and now sells some brands that briscoes used to sell. Not that that is a bad thing, but essentially I never buy anything unless it on 'sale' from either. Not that there is a huge amount I would buy from it. Perhaps kids toys, and the odd dvd/bluray or cd, storage boxes.

Does that mean 50 shades of grey will be pulled from the shelves as well. Oh don't forget about the little Lego baddies with their guns!

They're only pulling items with the little red sticker that says R18 on it. If they decide not to sell stuff based on not offending anyone ever, their shops will be an awful lot smaller.

50 Shades is actually classified M (yep... public pressure caused it to be submitted for classification) so it doesn't actually need a sticker (only R- books need stickers), nor meet The Warehouse's new 'policy'.
