Recently went to their gig at Vector Arena, 35 years after the first time I saw them...epic.

This time around I took my 10 year old son and started the family tradition of "Dad's first gig is your first gig"...

Your son might struggle to keep this tradition going with his kid... Can't see KISS lasting another 35 years.

Dunno - their kids could be doing it for all anyone would really know - they'll just reinvent themselves, like The Wiggles.

Yes! Completely forgot. Just dragged it out of the cupboard. Boxing one still goes, matching one seems dead. Seems I will be busy tonight... Sweet

I found my one (Boxing Game calculator) at few months back, and it still worked once new batteries were put in it.

Gave up after level 24, my fingers were getting too sore..

Great ad - but doomed - they aren't wearing seatbelts.

Still love this, although it irritates me that you cannot get proper beef Bovril here - just the vegetarian muck.

Not sure why: I actually rang Customs and asked if there was still any restriction on importing beef products like that from the UK due to BSE and they said no not at all, so you should be able to get it but for some reason the importers still bring the poor substitute in.

I always bring a couple of jars back if I visit the UK.

In November 2004, the manufacturers, Unilever, announced that the composition of Bovril was being changed from beef extract to a yeast extract, claiming it was to make the product suitable for vegetarians and vegans; at that time, fear ofbovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) may have been a factor.[citation needed] However, it now makes Bovril using beef extract and a chicken variety using chicken extract,[10] although the vegetarian formula is still sold in some areas, such as Australia and Hong Kong.[citation needed]

edit: Apparently they sell both in the UK, one is labelled "Beefy" and the other suitable for vegetarians. There is also a chicken flavour...

Corgi and Dinky toys. My grandparents used to send them over from England when you couldn't get them here (you couldn't even get Mars Bars here then). I had a pretty good collection - the TV Batmobile, heaps of Gerry Anderson series merchandise including Stingray, Thunderbirds 1,2,3 and 4 and Lady Penelope's pink Rolls Royce, all the vehicles from Captain Scarlet including the Angel Interceptor, a few things from the UFO TV series (except the Interceptor was green which was wrong!). I also had two Tour de France sets, one with a camera car and one cyclist and one with a team car with two cyclists and two spare bikes on the boot. They were all in mint condition (although being a kid I didn't keep the boxes) and could have been worth quite a bit now, but my mum just threw them in the bin when I reached a certain age that she considered too old for that sort of thing. Argh! I still collect "toys", but just robots (vintage tin windups and TV/movie replicas - note my avatar is Tetsujin 28-go, known outside Japan as Gigantor).

And plastic toys in cereal boxes, particularly the ones that came in plastic sprues that you had to pop out and assemble yourself. I remember an Apollo set commemorating the first moon landing that was pretty cool. They probably wouldn't pass H&S laws now - I heard on Qi that Kinder Surprise eggs are banned in the US as the toys present a choking hazard.
