kiwirock: I have this one because Geekzone doesn't do underscores ie: kiwi_rock.

I chose this username as my first username back in 1997 I think it was, on dial-up with Xtra. I

I used to have a lot to do with broadcast radio and the first double CD I think I bought was Kiwi Rock Volume 1.

I just haven't been bothered to come up with something else since.

Cheers.

Are you sure GZ doesn't do underscores?

My old username, which I changed to this one 3-4 years ago, had about 6 of them lol

Pretty boring - used to be my address.
Avatar - a minion with a Banana. Will have to change this soon, maybe.

Richard .  First name with the "a" missing.  h18, first letter of surname and last digits of my service number.   Instead of signing off stuff in a previous life with your initials (which could have been the same in some instances), we used this method.   Something that is unique to me..

The best way to increase the speed of your ADSL is to shave down the plastic wires entering your modem and wrap them tightly in tinfoil.

Sing a song while you do this about how much you love ADSL and how you really want and need it to go faster.

This always works.

Audiophiles are such twits! They buy such pointless stuff: Gold plated cables, $2000 power cords. Idiots.

OOOHHHH HYPERFIBRE!

Either that's in the wrong thread, or it's the most obscure Muppets reference I've ever seen!

Finch: Hey guys.

Just a bit of fun.

How did you get your Username and/or Avatar? What does it stand for?

My Username is from a TV show, but I am nothing like the character. I quite like the name, its pretty simple, so thought I would stick with it.

How about you?

Edit: 2K Posts! (Just got the Badge)

I got into Linux with kernel 0.99 back in 1993-ish. The only SVGA card supported at the time was a Trident card with 1MB of ram on it (IIRC)...and you had to compile your own kernel to get it to work. On a 386DX-40 with 8MB of RAM that took about 5 hours.

But it was awesome good fun and I became; "Linuxluver".

Now all my phones run Linux (Android).....and laptop runs Linux (Chrome OS), so my life is complete.

Does this indicate that people who work at Vodafone lack imagination ? :)

Initial use was joining a chat room to test something.. didn't actually want to talk to people, so set my nickname to quiet.

Then reused it for additional services, gaining the pretentious 'y' to make it unique on most services.

Warning: reality may differ from above post

My real life nickname for 26 years has been nipper/nippa everyone in my family or friends still calls me that even my wife. But for some reason i have never used it as a handle

Horseychick: My user name is cos I am a horse rider and it tends to be a name I can use on lots of sites.  I also have a p/plate but that's GGT0A so again, horse related.  I did once get stopped in a Police check and the officer asked me what my plate meant laughing

GGTOA=Horse Warrior/Champion ??

I'm a Kiwi who loves languages. Spanish is my wife's native tongue, so

Kiwifruta = my play on a spanish version of the word kiwifruit.

And the Avatar, it's me in a powerlifting competition. Besides geekery, powerlifting is another passion.
