"...but the sooner Story is canned, the better. It is one of the stupider ideas to make it to screen in this country"

Oh come on, what about Melody Rules? laughing

Is she an actress or an exotic dancer?

" Remember the remarks about the Indian MP "

Do you mean Sheila Diksh!t? [edit: had to use an exclamation mark to get past the bad word filter]

A childish part of my brain found the phonetics of Sheila's' surname funny.  I don't think I'm alone.

PH's problem is the minute he read her name you could see that it tickled his funny bone and when he finds something funny he feels compelled to share it with his audience.  That's generally what has gotten him in trouble e.g. his comments about the women with a 'stache.

You're not alone - I howled with laughter. I would have changed my name long ago were I her.

I used to know a guy called Richard Pullar.  What were his parents thinking?

School must have been hell for him.  Obviously he imposed to Rick as the diminutive used by his friends ...

I get what you're saying, it's an amusing name, but you and I are just viewers - there's no expectation we should behave as professionals.

That's actually not my main beef with Henry and a few others of his ilk.  His sniggering nastiness isn't always so trivial.  What does bother me most of all is criticism of individuals and groups who for one reason or another find themselves in the news, not by direct criticism of what they'd done, but by comparison with others, directly or indirectly (dog-whistle style) stereotyping them into nasty little bigot boxes that do exist out there, are immensely popular these days, and should never be reinforced by professional journalists or presenters, not even for an "opinion piece".

I used to work with a guy called John Thomas. He'd heard every joke going and was quite impervious to them.

To be honest, I don't remember what she was meant to do for a living either.
