Just a thought..do you think that Jim and Ingrid should do some of the interviews? This might provide some much needed variety as Jim and Ingrid sit there for a long time just listening to Paul!

Oh a specific question. From the thread title I thought you were asking for suggestions, like whether it would be better without Paul Henry.
The sidekicks have specific jobs (Ingrid - news/weather, Jim - sport) but they're basically there to provide interaction for Paul in the way of questions/witty comments he throws at them. I guess if it's a sport-related interview then it could make sense for Jim to do it. Not sure if there's anything that would lead to Ingrid doing an interview ahead of Paul though.
I'm not a Henry hater, though he's said some stupid, schoolboy things in the past, but it's basically just Paul's radio show with some cameras in the studio, right? I wouldn't mind more involvement from the others but then it's not Paul's show, and what differentiates it from every other standard co-hosted breakfast television show?
as it only attracts 30,000 to 50,000 viewers , it is probably in the who cares department.
Common sense is not as common as you think.

I guess the show might survive without Paul Henry, but I think it's worth watching, even though Paul does dominate everything.
Yes, not a bad idea, some sports related interviews, there is heaps of scope for that these days. I think Jim would come across really well doing these, particularly now that the Olympics are just around the corner.
Ingrid is a good news reader, but I think she could also be a great interviewer, why not give it a try? After all, I think Hilary Barry may have got a bit bored with being a "sidekick" all the time, and she certainly had the ability to do some powerful interviews (her work with Oprah proved that).
And as for Paul telling us how he races along the motorway going to work and knowing just where the speed traps are, I'm not sure that we should all be encouraged to break the law! But perhaps he's just trying to be entertaining and thinks this might spark us into watching some more of him!
Fred
I watch it every day. When I see the TV One equivalent at the airport it seems like a wake by comparison.
Mike
Paul Henry still has a show?

I must admit that, even early in the morning Paul makes us laugh a bit and helps to get us going, but he goes so flat out that it's a wonder he doesn't explode! At least with TV One, the interviews are shared between Rawdon and Nadine and the possibility of Hilary Barry arriving on the scene would make it even better!
Jim and Ingrid are pretty good at laughing at all Paul's "jokes", but then, so would I if I was paid to do so! Bella could also take a greater role, she could match her father's wit I'm sure! Come on Paul, spread it all around a bit, I would love to have seen Hilary interview the PM for example!

Removing Paul Henry would be a good, first step.

Compared to the TV One offering it's not bad but that's not saying much.
You either like Paul Henry or you don't. Most mornings I think he's OK and he can be very funny. Good with the panel normally.
Ingrid is hopeless. Jim's OK.

That's only because he doesn't conform to your left wing viewpoint..

It's called the Paul Henry Show, not the Paul, Jim and Ingrid Show. He's clearly the star.
Linuxluver:
He's a rude, ignorant fool. If that defines the Right for your, then there isn't much to say.
He's neither ignorant nor a fool.

Heh because the Left are so incapable of being Rude, Ignorant and Foolish? Certainly not in my experience.
I think it's a great show. Very well put together, and Paul Henry shines as the star. I don't agree with his political leanings, but find the show very entertaining.
When he hits his stride he's very funny.
He's a completely crap interviewer though. His political bias is extremely obvious. He makes absolutely no attempt to be impartial, generally accepting anything that comes from National without too much fuss while hammering anything that comes from [most] other parties. Other persons he has on his show seem to only be there so he can impose his point-of-view over the top of what they're trying to say. I've never quite been able to understand why he bothers asking questions when all he's going to do is interrupt and talk over the top of guest after a few seconds.
