Tracking is stuffed again. I have had things from aliexpress not track at all on nzpost till they arrive in the PO box basically.

Normally I see the email from them that I have something in the PO box to collect and I will go and look at the ones I am waiting on to see if they say they have had a box lobby handover. Last few weeks they have still been not tracked at all on the NZ post site while waiting for me to pick up.

While I patiently wait the arrive of my package it got me thinking, if I ship with Youshop using the economy service the ETA is 9-14 days however I just sent an item to the US via the cheapest option and was told 5-10 days. The only explanation I can come up with for that is that NZ posts service isn;t quite as good as the USPS.

Just wanted to share that food for thought.

at least for receiving from US, USPS is a lot quicker from west coast than east coast.

in addition to that 9-14 days you have to wait a few days for them to notice the package in their system and up to around a week for them to send out after paying.  i'm still waiting for one package from last month.

Mine was received and shipped within 1 day of arriving BUT that could be lies for all I know or because its my first time using them and they want to make their service look good.

Just when I thought I was on to a winner, now looks like it isn't going too well!

Anybody know who this social media chat session is with?  I've had a package delivered from amazon.com on Sat 4th March and it's still not showing for me...and of course the tracking number doesn't anything under the "claim your parcel search".

Had a parcel arrive at Youshop last Saturday, it got processed yesterday and is apparently expected to depart on the 10th (US time I guess) then 9-14 day delivery.  We'll see how the last leg goes but not too bad all-round I guess.

Interesting thing is the cost.  I was expecting to pay $12.50, it weighs 300g and is not very large.

It came to $16 though. Apparently is it 14 x 18 x 10 cm  which produces a volumetric weight of 0.504kg.

Using their calculator, 2mm less on any one of the three sides and it would have been $12.50.

I'll be getting a ruler out when it arrives  ( I know it's only $3.50, it's the principle).

This was delivered today so within the promised timeframes, would have been nice if they'd processed it a bit sooner after it was delivered to their warehouse.

The dimensions though, according to my (uncalibrated) tape measure are closer to 13.5 x 8.7 x 18.5cm, a volumetric weight of less than 0.435kg.  I've therefore been overcharged by 28%.  I shall be getting in touch with NZ Post.

(sorry, I've cut the left bit off the picture when pasting them into a single image, NZ Post will be getting the full size originals)

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

I am guessing that they round up to whole numbers therefore what they have charged seems correct.

then they should round down to 0.500kg rather than round up to 1kg.

that said, 14*9*19 is still under 0.500kg

I got charged for 14 x 10 x 18 (=0.504kg)

I filled out their on-line contact form requesting a credit last night and attached the photos.  Supposedly they'll get in touch with me before COB today.

curious how it'll go, keep us updated.  i suspect it'll take at least a couple of days to get a response.  if you need to respond to them further, then you have to wait around 24 to 32 hours generally it seems.   (ie if you email them at 8 am, you might get a response at 4 pm the next day).  more like 3 days+ if it has to go back to the US..

Well how about that.  I got a response back at 8:39 this morning with an acknowledgement and an apology, but they do want another photo showing the weight  (sounds a bit odd, the photos I sent them clearly show their own tracking number so you'd think they would be OK with the 300g that the US warehouse weighed it at.  Anyway I haven't opened it so I'll pop it on the kitchen scales tonight and will oblige them).  They also ask for a bank account number to deposit the refund, I'll ask them to donate the $3.50 to the SPCA instead.

I'm mildly impressed.

wow, i'm rather surprised :)

fortunate that you have kitchen scales.  i tried using bathroom scales for one package that was weighed at 2.9kg and it matched, but from my understanding those scales aren't very accurate.  (although i don't think kitchen scales go very heavy too)

My bathroom scales and kitchen scales are used for measuring parcels more often than they weigh me or food!

I got an email this morning to say my parcel has just arrived in the country,

haha. i was about to buy kitchen scales to measure parcels, but the weight limitations seemed annoying, and I much prefer rough volumetric measurements for food.  i'd be curious for something in between how much difference there is between kitchen scales and bathroom scales.

i got an email about packages arriving in country this morning, but it seems they arrived yesterday (delayed) and I have no idea if they're coming today or tommorow. (in east tamaki at 1:30 am)
