Is anyone else experiencing major delays with YouShop USA? I've used my USA address for over 40 packages in the last year and it's just getting progressively worse over the last 3-4 months.

Here's my latest experience.

  • 8th Feb, Amazon dispatches package
  • 11th Feb, Amazon shows package signed for by youshop
  • 18th Feb, Youshop advises of package received
  • 18th Feb, I pay - no repacking required.
  • 27th Feb, package departed youshop USA

At christmas I had a 4 day delay between being signed for and youshop telling me about it, but in mid February to be even worse seems crazy.

TLDR: Took 7 days for Youshop to acknowledge receipt of the package and another 9 to send it onward.

Thoughts?

Send them feedback about it. Ask for a manager to contact you.

Alternatively, use someone else.

I have also notice that over the last couple of months everything that nzpost has from youshop to couriers has starting having issues.  Items not being tracked, couriers not doing nightly deliveries after you pay for them etc.

I don't know what is going on but it's not the same as it was a year ago when things would work.

My most recent (about three weeks ago) took about a week between arriving at the Youshop warehouse and leaving again. Certainly not as fast as it has been in the past.

I did send them feedback and opened tickets, but their boilerplate responses just waste everyones time:

Unfortunately we are experiencing delays with our service. Please know, we are aware of this and working with the US YouShop warehouse team to these parcels shipped as soon as possible.
On behalf of New Zealand Post and the US YouShop warehouse team I would like to apologise for the frustrations and inconveniences caused to you by this delay.

And yes, some stuff I ordered this week is now going to shipito again.

Same here, currently have three orders all delivered to the USA warehouse 4-6 days ago and none have shown up in YouShop. The tracking numbers also aren't showing up in the "Claim Your Parcel" search which is a little concerning indicating their system either isnt working or the parcels are sitting somewhere waiting to be scanned in?

Anyone else familiar with any YouShop alternatives?

I've gone back to using https://www.shipito.com/en/ again.

My last YouShop package was "dispatched" on 27th Feb but it still waiting international departure.  From arrival into Oregon to arriving at my house in NZ, it used to take 8-9 days.  This package is quickly approaching a month without even leaving the USA.

Just wondering if I should switch too...

is ship.to much more expensive? eg. 10% more, than your bulk standard Youshop order?

ShipItTo is a much more professional organisation, better range of services, but they cost more for anything that's not quite small and can go on USPS. They have a price calculator. On the upside, they can get you things very quickly using FedEx/DHL.

It's normally at least three times the cost depending on exchange rates.

Youshop charge in 500g increments using a metric volumetric weight (1Kg per 5Litres) while ShipitTo charge in pounds using an imperial volumetric weight which differs between shipping methods.

NB: Shipitto calculator is in US dollars!

Useful repack service will often offset the higher freight costs with them. Worst case I actually had them repack something then send it over to youshop so I could use the economy option for a server case that didn't warrant being sent fast and sending fast would have put it over GST threshold.

There's nothing like Searching twitter to see if others are having problems.

This tweet is interesting - might have to try myus.com next time

I worked out roughly what shipitto would cost to use for what I have ordered and it suggested a shipping cost of $40+ USD....

Although YouShop insist there is no difference between premium and economy packages, I paid premium for a package four days after paying for an economy package and the premium rate one was "dispatched" first. Both however are now still in the USA waiting to leave.
