OK how about we take the DNA and fingerprints of every NZ citizen and keep them on file?

 

How much time would that save on trying to find out who did things?

I believe this has been done (more or less) for many years, the Police just don't have carte blanche access. In conjunction with other information (I do think it would be dangerous to trust a single source) I'd be for it.

 

Sorry for the Stuff link but this mentions blood testing of newborns being saved, I don't know how true this article is.
