On a lifestyle block with lots of services (water treatment, water pumps, ventilation system, etc...), have three EVs which use a total of about 10,000 kWh, and impossible to get family members to take shorter showers!
It's a 20% increase which is rather large for a single year.

Have you looked at the math for some Panels??

Investigated extensively two years ago. Have three phase unbalanced power which makes the inverter more expensive and also reduces self consumption. Was $30k for a 15 kW system and the economics didn't stack up at the time. Might be better now!
Hopefully we will have a website to compare electricity prices within a month or so that does a better job than the outdated Consumer based Powerswitch one.
In comments following the interview on RNZ for this they also confirmed that PV and EV inputs would be included in the EA website. Currently the PS one has neither of these.

I got a 10% increase from Powershop and I'm pissed!
I’m with Powershop in Christchurch, and my latest increase is well above inflation — roughly 12% for me. As a low‑user, it’s the jump in the fixed daily charge that really hits hard.

I'd suggest stop drinking - and that will solve one of the two problems mentioned. 😁
(joking - I couldn't resist the wide open opportunity you provided 😁😁)
I truely feel for you - over last 3 years, it feels like I've had 50%price rise in power - yet I can see no new infrastructure build...

I suggest you rock on down to the office of Megan Woods MP over in Wigram and ask her how the "fairness" is going
"Phasing out the regulations on ‘low-use’ electricity plans will create a fairer playing field for all New Zealanders and encourage a switch to electric technologies,” Megan Woods said."
"Power bill changes bring fairness to charges"

Got my increase email from Nova for power and gas, approx $40/mth increase for power and $10/mth for gas at my usage.

We're charging 2 EVs and battery garden tools, have pumped water, electric fence controller and a couple of 700L chest freezers. Our annual consumption is 11,500 kWh and we generate ~18,000 kWh from 13 kW of solar over 2 phases. We're currently in credit by $440.
You really need to rework your calculations as there's no good reason for 15 kW of solar not to be viable with your consumption rate.

Looking at the comments above, I should just accept the ±$28 increase per month & move on. This is from Meridian in Auckland.
"Based on your estimated annual consumption, we expect the impact to your bill to be $27.70 more per month inclusive of GST for your property listed below."

In case you’re not aware, the power price increases are govt approved

And if the LPG import strategy goes ahead expect more electricity price rises plus a 'gas tax' levied on electricity customers.
